CHAIRMAN NOTES FOR THE RECORD — It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2021 salary schedule book may be corrected administratively by Human Resources. RECESS Salary Board Minute No. SB 8-19-21 August 19, 2021 The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following members being present: Commissioners Diana Irey Vaughan, Larry Maggi, Nick Sherman and Controller Mike Namie. Also being present: Solicitor Jana Grimm; Chief of Staff John Haynes; Human Resources Director Shelh Arnold; Finance Director Josh Hatfield; Sheriff's representatives Jason Luci, Jack Hammerson, Chad Beattie, William Scrip, and Anthony Interval; Executive Secretary Marie Trossman; Chief Clerk Cindy Griffin and Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg. Mrs. Vaughan called the meeting to order at approximately 11:01 a.m. Moved by Mr. Sherman, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving Minute No. SB 7-15-21 dated July 15, 2021, as written. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENT Frank Byrd spoke regarding cutting funding to the row offices. FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION COURTS Mr. Sherman presented to the board on behalf of President Judge DiSalle, Court Administration, Juvenile Hearing Officer, $79,989.91/year; create one (1) full-time salaried position effective 8/19/21. Moved by Mr. Sherman, seconded by Mr. Maggi approving the foregoing personnel request. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried unanimously. COMMUNITY SERVICES/FITS Community Services/FITS, Office Manager, $45,374.00/year reduced to $42,000.00/year; reduction in annual salary for one (1) vacant full-time salaried position effective 8/19/21. VETERANS' AFFAIRS Veterans' Affairs, Veterans' Affairs Coordinator, $45,684.00/year reduced to $40,000.00/year; reduction in annual salary for one (1) vacant full-time salaried position effective 8/19/21. Veterans' Affairs, Administrative Assistant, $32,025.63/year; abolish one (1) full-time salaried position effective 8/19/21. Veterans' Affairs, Veterans' Affairs Coordinator, $40,000.00/year; create one (1) full-time salaried position effective 8/19/21. EMERGENCY SERVICES Emergency Services, Director of Public Safety, $93,691.44/year reduced to $87,500.00/year; reduction in annual salary for one (1) vacant full-time salaried position effective 8/19/21. PLANNING Planning, Land Use Planner, $48,447.80/year reduced to $45,000.00/year; reduction in annual salary for one (1) vacant full-time salaried position effective 8/19/21. BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES BHDS, Human Services Care Manager, $44,000.00/year; create two (2) full-time salaried positions effective 8/19/21. The positions will be grant funded by OMSHAS through 12/31/22 and by BHDS's Human Services Block Grant beyond 12/31/22. Moved by Mr. Sherman, seconded by Mr. Maggi approving the foregoing personnel request. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried unanimously. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2021 salary schedule book may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
