PUBLIC COMMENTS
Harry Sabatasse of Burgettstown commented on the recent elimination of county positions in Child Care
Information Services. He stated downsizing is a good move but it is not fair to do this from the bottom up.
Mr. Sabatasse also commented on the subject of the Commissioners receiving a raise.
Commissioner Irey noted the pay raise includes all elected officials, not just the Commissioners. She pointed out
she would be in favor of revisiting this issue to address removing the pay raises for elected officials sometime in the
future.
Regarding the downsizing of county positions, Commissioner Irey stated the Child Care Information Services
Office is a state funded program and the county does not have to run this program. She noted Commissioner Maggi has
formed a task force and is working hard to address inefficiencies in county government. She also stated the Board will
continue to make changes based on recommendations and cutting costs in the budget.
