Moved by Mr. Petro2ky, seconded by Mr. Mascara, adopting the Resolution as per above. REMARKS: Commissioner Ford noted for the record that he did not agree with this. He did not see the merit to it and Lherefore his vote was no. - Roll call vote taken: M,I. Ford - 111o; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yec. Motion carried. REMARKS: Commissioner Mascara noted that the Commissioners have been informed that the "ounty might, have an opportunity, depending on what would be refunded, to save approximately $800,000.00, which is almost a mill of taxes. He stated that he did not tnink the Commissioners could ignore letting this firm go to the marketplace to take advantage of Lhe new interest rateo, that came as: a result of the present state of the economy. Commissioner Ford noted that he would concur with that,, but he olhjected to allowing RRZ Public Markets, Inc., to have exclusive rights to review it. Commissioner Petrosky noted that at this juncture, it is U-urely exploratoLy in nature to determine whether or not this would be beneficial to the County and to the County taxpayers. He stated that this is not binding in any shape or form relative to whether or not the Commissioners would take such action relative to the bond issue. He felt it would be negligent of this, Board of Comrciissionerz; -i-Jl- they did not at least pursue the aspect of a refinancing if He wous. ld be benaf`cia' to arwount that it is suggested it could be. also Dointed out that this firm has done the majority of the bond ic-sues I - t'ne County or the Washington County Authority and that they floated by either I are probably grounded better and more attuned to what our financial situation :.s relative to ,his matter. Consequently, he felt it appropriate that this firm 'Jo the prelirvfnary examinations for the County.
