The County will contribute $6,000 per year for three years. In addition, the County Planning Commission and the County Conservation District will provide in - kind services; the remaining cost will be borne by the U. S. Soil Conservation Service. The flooding occurred after 6.2 inches of rain fell within a 12-hour period. The Commissioners promised to initiate action after meeting with citizens and elected officials of Houston Borough and Chartiers Township. Mr. Sember also noted that the Commissioners have repeatedly asked the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers to also conduct a study of the main stem of Chartiers Creek from where it left off at the original flood control project that ended in Canonsburg up through Houston into Chartiers Township. 567 BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA FRANK R.
