Washington, Pa., January 3, 1984
Frank R. Mascara, Metro Petrosky, Jr., and Edward M. Paluso, elected County
Commissioners of Washington County, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, at the Mun'cipa
Election held on Tuesday, November 8, 1983, met in the Public Meeting. Room of the
Courthouse Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, at approximate)
2;00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 1984, in compliance with the provisions of the
County Code, Article V, Sections 502-503-504, for the purpose of organizing the
Board of County Commissioners in order that each Commissioner could assume the
responsibilities of their respective office, their required bonds having been
approved and filed with the County Controller and the oaths of office of the said
County Commissioners subscribed to before the Court of Common Pleas at 11:00 a.m.
of the said Tuesday, January 3, 1984, and filed with the Prothonotary as req ired
by the Act of Assembly.
Also being present were: Chief Clerk Dallatore; Solicitor Bassi; Cbrone
Jackson; Sheriff Fazzoni; Chief Deputy Sheriff Littleton; Lou Lignelli, Director
of Administration; Administrative Assistant Davis; Margaret Pennline; Personnel
Director; Joseph Giecek, Director of Parks & Recreation; J. Bracken Burns, EMS
Director; Jack Welty, Data Processing Manager; Ray Oest, Building Superintendent;
Jim Wood, Bridge Superintendent; Joann Sarkett, Brownsville Telegraph; and Jon
Stevens, Observer -Reporter; Linda Hands, Clerk -Steno II.
Meeting called to order by Temporary Chairman Edward M. Paluso who declared
nominations open for the position of Chairman of the Board of County Commiss*oner;
Moved by Mr. Petrosky, seconded by Mr. Paluso, nominating Frank R. Mascara as
Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners for the next four years.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Chairman Mascara, seconded by Mr. Paluso, nominating Metro Petrc
Jr., as Vice -Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners.

Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Mr. Petrosky, seconded by Mr. Mascara, nominating Edward M. Pali
as Secretary of the Board of County Commissioners.

(Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square Office Building; and that the Agenda Meetings

(Courthouse Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania.

Motion carried unanimously.
Chairman Mascara welcomed Commissioner Petrosky to the Board of County
Commissioners and stated that he looks forward to working with this Board in
meeting the fiscal challenges that face the County. Commissioners Petrosky and
Paluso both made a tew comments concerning the challenges facing the Board during
the next four years and asked for the cooperation of all County employees.
There being no further business, Chairman Mascara declared the meeting
adjourned at approximately 2:30 p.m.
