P'ALUSO, COMMISSIONERS • Minute No. 28 Washington County Commissioners Washington, PA, July 12, 1984 The Board of Washington County Commissioners met in regular session with the following members being present: Commissioners Mascara and Paluso. Absent being: Commissioner Petrosky. Also being present: Administrative Assistant Davis; Solicitor Bassi; Lou Lignelli, Director of Administration; Linda Hands, Clerk -Steno II; Jim Jefferson, WJPA; Scott Myers, WKEG; Jon Stevens, Observer - Reporter. Chairman Mascara called the meeting to order and asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No, 27, each member having receivers a copy. Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Mascara, that Minute No. 27 be appro-Ted as read. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr, Mascara - Yes, Motion carried unanimously. Special Order of Business: Chairman Mascara read the following Proclamation: WHEREAS, the Washington County Italian Heritage Festival, Inc,, has made valuable contributions to the history, development and quality of life to the City and County of Washington; and WHEREAS, the Washington County Italian Heritage Festival, Inc., promotes the Italian Heritage and culture of the people of Washington County; and WHEREAS, the Washington County Italian Heritage Festival, Inc,, organizes festivals, parades to promote its purposes and goals; and WHEREAS, the Third Annual Italian Heritage Festival will be held on Friday, August 3, 1984, through Sunday, August 5, 1984. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Washington County Commissioners hereby designates the week beginning July 29, 1984, as " ITALIAN HERITAGE FESTIVAL WEEK'S and urges all citizens to join in a county -wide celebration recognizing the Washington County Italian Heritage Festival, Inc, Movedby Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Mascara, adopting the foregoing Proclamatiran. Administrative Assistant Davis presented to the Board for their con- sideration and approval an Agreement with the Southwestern Pa. Regional Planning Commission (SPRPC) in connection with the 1984-85 Unified Planning Work Program. Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Mascara, approving the Agreement wits SPRPC as per above. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr, Mascara - Yes, Motion carried unanimously. Administrative Assistant Davis presented to the Board for their consider- ation and approval a Change Order to the contract with Middle States Steel Construc- tion Company in connection with the Rehabilitation and Upgrading of the Pike Run Bridge Project. This change order increases the contract by $1,400.00 and is for additional work required to be performed by the contractor, Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr, Mascara, approving the foregoing Change Order and a.uthori,zing the Chairman of the Board to so execute. Motion carried unanimously, Administrative Assistant Davis requested authorization to adverti.se�for bids for the furnishing and delivering of 400 tons of aggregate material and the delivery and application of approximately 9,000 gallons of E3 bituminous material which is in conjunction with the road improvement project at Cross Creek Park. Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr, Mascara, authorizing the Administra- tive Assistant to advertise for bids as per above. Roll call vote taken: Mr, Paluso - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. PALUSO, COMMISSIONERS Administrative Assistant Davis presented to the Board for their consider- ation and approval a request to accept a proposal submitted by Transamerica Occidental Life Insurance Company for the Employees Group Life Insurance policy at the rate of $.38 per thousand which is guaranteed for six months; said policy to become effective August 1, 1984. The present policy with Sun Life of Canada will be cancelled as of July 31, 1984, Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr, Mascara, accepting the foregoing pro- posal submitted by Transamerica Occidental Life Insurance Company and authorizing` the payment of $2,443.40 to said company to be submitted with the life insurance application, Roll call vote taken: Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. Administrative Assistant Davis presented to the Board for their consider- ation and approval agreements with the following individuals in connection with the Washington County Health Center; 1, Ross F,.Richardson, M.D,, as a member of the Utilization Review Committee, at the rate of $50.00 per monthly meeting. 2, Colleen C, Allison, R.R,A,, as Medical Records Consultant, at the rate of $30.00 per hour, effective 7-1-84 to 7-1-85. COMMISSIONERS Administrative Assistant Davis informed the Board that Lawrence W. Miller of Washington has been recommended for appointment to the Industrial Development Authority, replacing Clyde Tracanna.
