Washington County Commissioners
Washington, PA, July 19, 1984
The Board of Washington County Commissioners met in regular session
with the following members being present: Commissioners Petrosky and Paluso.
Absent being: Commissioner Nascara. Also being present: Chief Clerk Dallatore;
Solicitor Bassi; Administrative Assistant Davis; Judi Lomago, Executive Secretary;
Linda Hands, Clerk -Steno II; Larry Spahr_ and Sophie Caruso, Election Office;
Madge Finney, EEO Officer; Myrna, Clemens, Retired employee of the Election Office;
Jon Stevens, Observer -Reporter; Jim Jefferson, WJPA; Natalie Moore, Herald -Stan-
dard and Lucy Rea, interested citizen.
Vice -Chairman Petrosky called the meeting to order at approximately
10:00 a.m, and asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to
Minute No. 28, each member having received a copy.
Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, that Minute No, 28 be
approved as read,

Mr, Paluso - Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes,
Motion carried unanimously.
Special Order of Business:
Vice -Chairman Petrosky presented to Myrna Clemens a Certificate of
Appreciation. Ms. Clemens was an employee for the County of Washington for 21
years. Some comments were made.
Correspondence:
Chief Clerk informed the Board of the receipt of the following checks;
1, Mellon Bank n final income and cash balance held in trust
of Elizabeth Phillips Estate:
Children Welfare Account No. 505-070 $2,908.88
Wash, Co. Homes Account No. 505-071 $2,881,48

New Business:
Chief Clerk presented to the Board for their consideration and approval
a Change Order with Middle StatesSteel Construction Company in connection with
the Rehabilitation and Upgrading of the Pike Run Bridge Project, This Change
Order extends the contract time from 60 days to 73 days,
Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, approving the foregoing
Change Order and authorizing the Vice -Chairman of the Board to so execute.

Regarding the Washington Greene County Job Training Agency, Chief Clerk
presented to the Board for their consideration and approval a request to amend the
agreement with Mon Valley Health and Welfare Council by a total of $8,000.00 (from
$52,610 to $60,610) for the purpose of adding funds to allow for the extension of
the contract term until 9-30-84; and a request to enter into an agreement with
Western Area Vocational Technical School for the provision of classroom training
in the area of Licensed Practical Nursing for two (2) participants. The contract
term shall be from July 20, 1984 to June 30, 1985 and will be funded under Title
IIA, The authorization amount shall be $7,500.00.
Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, approving the foregoing
JTPA items.

Chief Clerk presented to the Board for their consideration and approval
Purchase of Service/Placement Agreements with the following organizations in con-
nection with the Children & Youth/Juvenile Probation programs for FY84-85:
1. Holy Family Institute
2. United Methodist Home for Children
Moved by Mr, Paluso, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, approving the Purchase of
Service/Placement Agreements as per above.

Motion carried unanimously.
Chief Clerk presented to the Board for their consideration and approval
the following travel request:
1, Richard Brady, Director of Domestic Relations,
to attend a Board meeting of the D.R,A,P. in
Harrisburg, PA, on July 26-27, 1984,
Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, approving the foregoing

Chief Clerk requested authorization to advertise for bids for the fur-
nishing and delivering of 1985 Tax Notices,
Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, authorizing the Chief Clerk
to advertise for bids as per above,

Chief Clerk announced to all those present that the Commissioners Meeting
scheduled for July 26th has been cancelled and that the July Prison Board Meeting
has been cancelled.
