Mr. Porter stated there was still a problem with Magistrate Martin's
lease, which will expire at the end of the year. He stated that rental for
the building now being leased will be raised from $300.00 to $450.00 per month
by the new owner.
Remarks:
Mr. Paluso stated that he had talked to Magistrate Martin, who felt that this
was an exorbitant rental, and that he would attempt to negotiate something with
the new owner; but if nothing could be agreed upon, he did have temporary
arrangements for other quarters until a permanent one could be found.
Mr. Porter stated that there has been some question concerning the
membership on the Board of Directors of the Washington County Hospital Authoritj
He explained that he was told originally that the Board had appointed a successc
to Mr. Gwaley, who resigned from the Board, but after careful reading of their
communciation, it indicates that the Board only recommended Mr. Tokar to the
appointment, and therefore, the vacancy remains to be filled, as well as one
which expires at the end of the year. Mr. Porter also stated that a question
was raised as to whether the size of the Board could be increased so as to
afford some representation from other sections of the County in the
Monongahela Valley area. He stated that the Act does provide that the Articles
of Incorporation can be amended to increase the size of the Board, but that
