Office of County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., April 24, 1980
The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the
following members being present: Commissioners Paluso, Gilmore and Mascara.
Also being present: Chief Clerk Dallatore; Administrative Assistant Davis;
Betty Gallo, Secretary; Solicitor DiSalle; Budget Director Gillespie; Coroner
Jackson; Roland Bourke, Director, Redevelopment Authority; John Drake, Senior
Citizens; Bob Sabot, WKEG; Jim Jefferson, WJPA; Becky Andrews, Daily Herald;
Bob Robertson, Observer -Reporter.
Chairman called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. and asked if there
were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 15, each member
having received a copy.
Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that Minute No. 15
be approved as read.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
Special Order of Business:
Roland Bourke, Director of the Redevelopment Authority, presented
a Resolution to the Board for their consideration which would approve the
Washington Highland -Erie Redevelopment Proposal.
Resolution.
Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, approving the foregoing)
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
Correspondence:
Chief Clerk informed the Board of the receipt of the following checks
Solicitor:
1. Commonwealth of Pa. - Child Support Program -Incentives
for Feb. 1980 - $556.20
2. Commonwealth of Pa. - Reimbursement for appellate
courts costs for fiscal year 1978 - $83,388.80
3. Commonwealth of Pa. - reimbursement for court costs
for fiscal year 1978 - $139,458.95
Solicitor DiSalle stated that Mr. Brady, Director of Property &
Supplies,had asked him to review the Agreement with the Xerox Corporation
for updating the xerox machines in the Magistrates' offices which the Board
had previously approved (Minute No. 8 dated Feb. 28, 1980), and that after his
perusal he had found everything to be in order.

10:30 A.M. - OPENING OF BIDS FOR PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT FOR WCETA AND ONE 1980
MODEL 4-DOOR SEDAN
Roger Metcalfe, Chief Accatntant, opened and read the following bids:
Furnishing and --Delivering of One 1980 4-Door Sedan
1. Cliff Heath Ford, Inc.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15241
Total amount of bid: $6,622.00
A Cashier's Check in the amount of $675.00 accompanied the check.
2. Colonial Chevrolet - Cadillac, Inc.
15 McKean Avenue
Charleroi, Pennsylvania 15022
Total amount of bid: $6,559.00
A Certified Check in the amount of $655.00 accompanied the bid.
Since the County has previously dealt with both bidders, Mr. Paluso
recommended that the bid be awarded to the lowest bidder today.
Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Gilmore, awarding the contract
for the furnishing and delivering of One 1980 4-Door Sedan to Colonial
Chevrolet - Cadillac, Inc., 15 McKean Avenue, Charleroi, Pa., for the amount set
forth in their bid; this being the lowest and most responsible bid received in
accordance with specifications

Motion carried unanimously.

bid.

Total amount of bid: $5,900.00
A bid bond in the amount of 10% of the total bid accompanied the
bid.
