Office of the County Commissioners
Washington, PA., May 29, 1980
The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the followinc
members being present: Commissibners--Paluso, Gilmore and Mascara. Also being
present: Chief Clerk Dallatore; Adiministrative Assistant Davis; Linda Hands,
Secretary; Solicitor DiSalle; John Drake, Senior Citizens; Bob Robertson,
Observer -Reporter; Becky Andrews, Daily Herald; Bob Sabot, WKEG; Jim Jefferson,
WJPA-.^. Two members of.the Children & Youth Advisory Board later +entered the
meeting.
Chairman called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. and asked if there were
any corrections, additions, or omissions to Minute No. 20, each member having
received a copy.
Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that.`-M*rft No. 20 be a
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Palsuo - Yes; Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
Old Business:
Regarding the bids received for Paint and Lumber for the Bridge Department
Solicitor DiSalle stated that he had reviewed the bids and recommended the bids
be awarded to Donora Lumber, the lowest bidder, for both the Paint and Lumber.
Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, awarding the contracts to
DONORA LUMBER, COMPANY, P.O. Box 542, Donora, PA., for the amounts set forth in
their bids. These being the lowest and most responsible bids received in
accordance with specifications for both the Paint and Lumber.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
Correspondence:
Chief Clerk informed the Board of the receipt of the following checks:

3. Commonwealth of Pa. - Children & Youth Program - $4,058.25 - Indochines

Under the WCETA P.#ogram, the Chief Clerk presented the following OJT
Contract, PSE Agreements, amen X� to PSE Agreements, and an Agreement with
YWCA:
Amendment to agreement with R. E. Roccon and Sons for On -the -Job Traini&g
Contract.
Period of Contract: January 5, 1979 - August 31, 1979.
Increasing the Contract amount of $2,600.00 to $3,879.75.
Agreement with YWCA of Washington to train 20 women in preparation of
entering the non-traditional job market.
Period of Agreement: June 15, 1980 - August 31, 1980.
Cost not to exceed: $10,000.00

Chief Clerk presented the foljbW;fng Contracts to the Board concerning the
Children & Youth Program:
Amendment No. 1 to DPW Contract, Effective July 1, 1980, which increased
the total Contract cost to $324,651.00
DPW Contract to Develop and Conduct Title XX Training Activities for Staff.
Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, approving the Amendment and
Contract as per above.

Chief Clerk informed the Board that Fred P. McLuckie, of Charleroi, has
been recommended for appointment to the SPEDD Board of Directors Xrepresenting
local government).
Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, approving the appointment of
Fred P. McLuckle as per above.
