COMMISSIONERS Minute No. 38 Office of County Commissioners Washington, PA., October 2, 1980 The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the follow- ing members being present: Commissioners Paluso, Gilmore and Mascara. Also be- ing present: Chief Clerk Dallatore; Administrative Assistant Davis; Solicitor DiSalle; Charles Gillespie, Budget Director; Farrell Jackson, Coroner; Linda Hands, Secretary; J. Bracken Burns, EMS; Kim Kleinle, Daily Herald; Jim Jefferson, WJPA; Bob Robertson, Observer -Reporter; Bartley Osborne, Charlotte Lane, Kathy Carrigan, members of the 200th Birthday Committee; Earl Buqaile, Planning Commission and member of the 200th Birthday Committee; Helen Miller, League of Women Voters Lucy Rea, Girl Scouts. Chairman called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m'. and asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 37 each member having received a copy. Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that Minute No. 37 be approved as read. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Special Order of Business: Earl Bugaile of the Planning Commission and member,,of the 200th Birth- day Committee introduced to the Board Kathy Carrigan of the 200th Birthday Committee who presented each of the Commissioners with an official Birthday T-shirt which was designed by Ed Ringer of Westland. (J. Bracken Burns entered, the meeting). Correspondence: Chief Clerk presented to the Board the following checks: 1. Commonwealth of Pa. - $4,135.95 - Indochinese Refugees - Children & Youth Program - First quarter of 1980 2. U. S. Treasury - $120,000.00 - Manpower Planninq Program 3. Atlantic Aviation Corporation - $500.00 - Rent Ohio Valley Piper Sales - Airport 4. Commonwealth of Pa. - $480.40 - State Tax Equalization Board - months of January, February, April, May, June and July, 1980 Chief Clerk informed all those present that a copy of the draft of Pennsylvania's Abandoned Mine Reclamation P3 anh.as been received from the Depart - went of Environmental Resources and will be available for public participation and comments in the Commissioners Office until October 17, 1980. 0 E 1 269 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Frank .,R. , Mascara, _ DAVID L. PALUSO, COMMISSIONERS New Business: Chief Clerk presented to the Board a letter of endorsement to the Juvenile Court Judges Commission of the After Care Program for Washington County. Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, approving the foregoing letter of endorsement. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Regarding the Washington County Health Center, Chief Clerk presented to the Board a renewal of the Inspection Service Contract with Grinnell Fire Protec- tion Systems Company, Inc., for a one-year contract (10-1-80 to 9-30-81) in the amount of $294.00 per year. This is an increase of $20.00 from the previous Contract. Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, approving the Contract with Grinnell Fire Protection Systems Company, Inc. as per above. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Chief Clerk presented to the Board an Agreement with Kathleen Backner as a Speech -Language Pathologist at the Washington County Health Center. She will make one visit to the Health Center on a monthly basis with a maximum of At $35.00 per hour three hours per visit, effective September 2, 1980 - January 2, 1981. Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, approving the Agreement with Kathleen Backner as per above. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that the Tax Assessment Office be authorized to prepare the following tax refund due to either duplica- tion or overpayment of real estate or personal property tax: 1.
