PALUSO, COMMISSIONERS Minute No. 122 Office of County Commissioners Washington, Pa., June 1, 1978 The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the following members being present: Commissioners Gilmore, Paluso and Morgan. Also being present: Chief Clerk Brady; Solicitor Derrico; John Drake of the Senior Citizens; Helen Miller of The League of Women Voters; Bob Robertson of the Observer -Reporter; Barbara Raffaele of the Daily Notes; Phil Morrissey of WKEG; Administrative Assistants Donald L. Ligman and Joseph Giecek; and !Bill DiFabio of WJPA; and Martin Resick of the PSSU. Chairman noted for the record that the three Commissioners, the Chief Clerk and County Solicitor were in attendance. Chairman asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 121, each member having received a copy. Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that Minute No. 121 be approved, as read. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Morgan - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Correspondence: Chief Clerk informed the Board of the receipt of the following checks: 1. Commonwealth of Pa. - ck. #93-276118 dated 5-23-78 Day Care Contract No. 3967 - Months of April (actual) and June (estimate) - $16,233.91 2. Atlantic Aviation Corp - ck. #005162 dated 5-25-78 Rent - Ohio Valley Piper Sales - $500.00 3. J.A. Preston Corp. - ck. #12072 dated 5-25-78 Refund on bath chair lifts for Health Center - $1,422.39 4. MINUTE BOOK 165 BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA MALCOLM L. MORGAN. DAVID L. GILMORE, EDWARD M. PALUSO, COMMISSIONERS Chief Clerk informed the Board of the following requests for travel authorization: 1. John R. Fantini and Beverly Shaffer to go to Harrisburg on June 9, 1978, to discuss summer youth programs with the Governor's Office of Federal Manpower Coordination. 2. Jack Gallagher to go to Bethlehem, Pa., to discuss Equipment Usage for curriculum techniques with the Bethlehem Mine Cooperation on June 6 and 7, 1978. 3. Diane Cshuta, Richard Stickle and Gilbert Muir to attend Domestic Relations Conference at Penn State on June 4 - 7, 1978 Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, approving the foregoing travel requests. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Morgan - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Chief Clerk presented to the Board for their consideration a Cooperative Agreement between the Bureau of Employment Security and the Washington County Office of Employment and Training for the 1978 Summer Youth Program. Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Gilmore, approving the foregoing Cooperative Agreement. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Morgan - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Chief Clerk presented to the Board for their consideration the following two (2) Special Projects Modifications: 1. City of Monongahela - increases the funds previously obligated by $1,294.46 to a total obligation of $32,974.56 (to cover the cost of additional hospitalization) 2. Citizens Library - increases the funds previously obli W267.10 ed by $1,577.16 to a total obligation of (extension for their Human Services Directory Special Project till September 30, 1978) Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Gilmore, approving the above-ment Special Projects Modifications. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Morgan - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Chief Clerk informed the Board of a Public Notice from the Department of the Army which stated that Nat Industries, Inc., of Bentleyville, Pennsylvania, has made application for a Department of the Army Permit for the purpose of constructing a barge dock facility along the left bank of the river for loading and unloading bulk materials, primarily coal. Solicitor: Mr. Derrico presented the following tax refund to the Board for their consideration and approval. Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that the Tax Assessment Office be authorized to prepare the following tax refund due to either duplicati r overpayment of real estate or personal property tax: 1. Ernest & Nancy L. Rappe (1978 County Tax) P. 0. Motion carried unanimously 0:30 A.M. - OPENING OF BIDS - TRACTOR FOR DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION Barbara Davis, Office Manager and Chief Accountant of the Controller's ffice, opened and read the following bid. 1. Canonsburg Supply & Equipment Company, Inc. R. D. #1, Box 247 Canonsburg, PA 15317 Total amount of bid: $11,668.55 A certified check in the amount of $1,166.86 accompanied the bid. Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Gilmore, that the foregoing bid be abled for further review. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Morgan - Yes.
