Minute No. 168
Office of County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., April 26, 1979
The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the
following members being present: Commissioners Gilmore, Paluso and Morgan.
Also being present: Chief Clerk Brady; Solicitor Derrico; John Cadez, Township
Officials; Mrs. Miller, League of Women Voters; Jon Stevens, Observer -Reporter;
Bob Sabot, WKEG; Barbara Raffaele, Daily Notes.
Chairman noted for the record that two Commissioners, the Chief
Clerk and County Solicitor were in attendance.
Chairman asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions
to Minute No. 167, each member having received a copy.
Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Morgan, that Minute No. 167,
be approved as read.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Morgan - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
(Commissioner Gilmore entered the meeting.)
Correspondence:

Chief Clerk informed the Board of the receipt of the following
1. Commonwealth of Pa. - reimbursement for court costs for
fiscal year 1977 - Acct. 6-b-15 - $139,208.69
2. Commonwealth of Pa. - Day Care Contract #9630
Acct. 6-b-14 - $16,280.28
3. Commonwealth of Pa. - for 1979 Adult Probation Grant -
in -Aid - Acct. 6-b-3 - $17,523.00
Chief Clerk presented the following bills to the Board for their
consideration and approval:
1. Felice Associates, Inc. - $678.00
2. McDonald Associates - $2,864.07
Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, approving payment of
the foregoing bills.

Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Morgan - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
Regarding the Washington -Greene County Mental Health/Mental
Retardation Board, Mr. Morgan recommended that Mrs. Manilla Zubovic, a Regis
Nurse of Donora, Pa., be appointed to fill the unexpired term of Miss Jane Sarra.
Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Gilmore, approving the forego
appointment of Mrs. Manilla Zubovic.

Regarding the Washington County Youth and Social Service Agency,
Mr. Gilmore stated that there were four (4) vacancies on the Advisory Board,
and recommended that the following persons be appointed as members.

Pat Lutz
Hickory, Pa.
Willis Kennedy
Avella, Pa.
Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, approving the appoint-
ment of the foregoing persons to the Youth and Social Service Advisory Board.

Motion carried unanimously.
Chief Clerk informed the Board of the following requests for

travel requests.

Motion carried unanimously.
Regarding the Court House Project, the Chief Clerk presented an
Agreement between the County and Miller, Thomas, Gyekis, Inc. for repair of the
Courthouse roof at the Beau Street entrance for a cost of $1,841.00.
Agreement.
Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Gilmore, approving the foregoing

10:30 A.M. - OPENING OF BIDS FOR REPAIR OF RETAINING WALL ADJACENT TO THE JAIL
PARKING LOT
Barbara Davis of the Controller's Office opened and read the
following bids:
1. Bessemer Construction, Inc.
340 - 42nd Street
Pittsburgh, PA 15221
Total amount of bid: $20,100.00
A bid bond in the amount of $2,400.00 accompanied the bid.
2. Joseph J. Graciano Corporation
7925 Hill Avenue
Pittsburgh, PA 15221
Total amount of bid: $25,280.00
A bid bond in the amount of 10% of the total bid accompanied
the bid.
Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that the foregoing
bids be tabled for further review.
