PALUSO, COMMISSIONERS 1 Il Minute No. 82 Office of County Commissioners Washington, Pa., August 18, 19711' The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the following members being present: Commissioners Paluso and Morgan. Absent being Commissioner Gilmore. Also being present: Chief Clerk Brady, Solicitor Diamond; Don Ligman and Joe Giecek, Administrative Assistants; Coroner Jackson; Mrs. Miller, League of Women Voters; John Drake, Senior Citizens and John Stevens, Observer -Reporter. Chairman noted for the record that two Commissioners, the Chief Clerk and County Solicitor were in attendance. Chairman asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 81, each member having received a copy. Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Morgan, that Minute No. 81, be approved as read. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Morgan - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Old Business: Mr. Diamond stated that he had reviewed the two bids received last week for installation of carpeting in the Child Welfare Office and recommended that the bid be awarded to Franklin Interiors. He noted that the bid did not include leveling of the floor, and that separate arrangements should be made for this work. Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Morgan, awarding the contract for installation of carpeting in the Child Welfare Office to FRANKLIN INTERIORS, 100 Ross Street, Pittsburgh, Pa., for the amount set forth in their bid; this being the lowest responsible bid received in accordance with specifications. Chief Clerk stated that during the flood situation in Johnstown, mmmbers of Troop D, 104th Air Cavalry of the Pennsylvania National Guard were on hand aiding flood victims for more than two weeks. He also noted that a reception had been held recently at which time Mr. Paluso presented the Troop with a Certification of Appreciation from the County. Mr. Brady referred to a letter received from the National Guard thanking the Commissioners for their support. Chief Clerk informed the Board of the resignation of Carol Malezija, Executive Secretary, Health Center, effective August 26, 1977. Chief Clerk informed the Board of a letter dated August 5, 1977, from the Borough of Donora expressing their gratitude to the Commissioners for their assistance with two special CETA projects taking place in the Borough. Chief Clerk informed the Board of six On The Job Contracts for consideration by the Board - five contracts with Brick Layers Local # 11 J.A.C., 1 S. College, Washington, Pa., for Ricky Ringer, Richard Bannister, Tom Santoro, Gregory Sobran and David Daugherty as Brick Layers; and with Automotive Service Councils, 2961 W. LiberIcy Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa., for John Pavcic as a Mechanic. Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Morgan, approving the six OJT contracts as per above. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Morgan - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Chief Clerk informed the Board of a letter dated August 10, 1977, from the Cooperative Extension Service requesting a $7,000.00 budget allocation. Chief Clerk presented a Change Order from Carman Benson Equipment Corporation, which increases their Contract sum in the amount of $310.00,for installation of the ironer presently located in the Men's Home to the new facility. Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Morgan, approving the Change Order as per above. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Morgan - Yes. Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Morgan, authorizing the Chief Clerk to advertise for bids as per above. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Morgan - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Chief Clerk requested authorization to advertise for bids to move the Wilson Bridge located in Cross Creek and for construction of abutments supporting the bridge. Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Morgan, authorizing the Chief Clerk to advertise for bids'as per above. Roll call vote taken: Solicitor: Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Morgan - Yes.
