Also present being: Chief Clerk Murphy; County Solicitor Capano; Reporter Robertson of the Observer -Reporter; Reporter Roule of the Monongahela Publishing Company; and Public Information Officer Huber. Meeting called to order by Chairman and roll call taken: Mr. Bevec - Present; Mr. Mazza - Present; Mr, Flynn - Present, Chairman asked if there were any corrections, additions, or omissions to Minute No. #164, each Commissioner having received a copy. Reports - None Old Business: Awarding of Contract for Boiler Alterations at County Home for Women. County Solicitor Capano read correspondence under date of April 23, 1971, from Carl G. Bonidie, Inc. , 92 Loretta Street, Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, be awarded the contract for said boiler alterations. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the contract for Boiler Alterations for the Washington County Home for Aged Women, Washington, Pennsylvania, be awarded to CARL J. BONIDIE, INC. , 92 Loretta Street, Bethel Park, Pennsylvania 15102, for the amount set forth in their bid; this being the lowest responsible bid received and being in accordance with specifications. Motion made upon the recom- mendation of the County Solicitor and Carl G. Baker and Associates. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Correspondence: Chief Clerk informed the Board of a check in the amount of $540. 00 received from the Department of Community Affairs for services rendered under contract for Project No. P-6912 - McGuffey Area - Coordinating Service Contract. Chief Clerk read correspondence under date of April 14, 1971, from William H. Weirich, Secretary - Canton Township Board of Supervisors, addressed to John D. Anthony, Director of the Washington County Planning Commission, which requested said Commission to re -consider two (2) streets, namely; West Wylie Avenue and Sheffield Street. Correspondence stated that as per letter under date of May 2, 1970, it was originally requested by the Canton Township Supervisors to include these two streets in the •Six Year Highway Program. Mr. Huber: The Canton Township Board of Supervisors would benefit more by including these two (2) streets under the Safety Improvements Program or as Maintenance under the district office. Mr. Flynn: May I suggest that the above letter be acknowledged. Chief Clerk read correspondence under date of April 22, 1971, from Paul Klacan, Secretary - Charleroi Cemetery Company, Inc. , which stated that in the re- habilitation of said Cemetery there was need for extra maintenance for 70 Veterans graves and markers. Correspondence requested the Commissioners consideration of part of the cost - in the amount of $350. 00. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, approving the sum of $350. 00 as part of the cost involved for extra maintenance for 70 Veterans graves and markers by the Charleroi Cemetery Company, Inc. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, approving the sum of $300. 00 for the property of Hazel B. Caldwell (C-5) located in Cross Creek County Park, Said action will be for the acquisition of the coal rights on said property. Said funds to be drawn from the Parks and Recreation Account. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Chief Clerk read correspondence under date of April 20, 1971, from Mrs. Charlotte K. Lane, Executive Director of the Washington -Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency, which stated that the Western Pennsylvania Wheelmen, Ltd. , are having their Annual WAG Tour (Washington and Greene County) on June 26 and 27, 1971. Correspondence stated that this is a National Bicycle organization. Correspondence requested that the County Commissioners designate the enclosed Tour as the official Washington County Bike Route and receive approval to have metal signs placed along the route to guide the bike riders. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, approving the Tour as the official Washington County Bike Route and also giving approval to have metal signs placed along the rout to guide the bike riders; said funds to be drawn from the Washington - Greene County Tourist Promotion Account. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Chief Clerk read correspondence under date of April 23, 1971, from John T. Shaw, Western Area Director - State Council of Civil Defense, which congratulated the County Commissioners in their foresignt in permitting two packaged disaster hospital units to be stored at the Washington City Hospital. Chief Clerk read correspondence from Mrs. Donna Livingood and Mark Livingood - Members of Morris Township Agricultural Club, which expressed thanks to the Washington County Commissioners for their time and the information provided on Local Government Day on April 15, 1971. New Business: None Solicitor - County Solicitor Capano read a memorandum under date of April 26, 1971, from Louis Furman, Real Estate Tax Office, which requested a motion be made for the delivery of the deeds to the successful bidder for the amount as stated in the enclosed Resolution. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the deeds be executed for the following described properties to the following persons listed below for the sum or price set opposite the same under and by virtue of the action of this Board taken February 25, 1971, as recorded in Minute No. #156, and the Decree of the Court of Common Pleas dated April 12, 1971, the said deeds to be delivered to the purchasers named therein upon payment of the consideration recorded therein together with the costs of the proceedings and that Michael R.
