BEYEC, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Minute No. 107-S Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., October 28, 1971 The Salary Board of the County 'of Washington met.in the Office of the County Commissioners with the following members being present: Commissioners Capano and Flynn, and Deputy Controller Whalen. Also present being: Acting Chief Clerk Candy Cianelli; Jack Merdian of WJPA; Reporter Roule of the Monongahela Publishing Company; Reporter Budinger of the Observer -Reporter; and Public Information Officer Huber. Meeting called to order by Chairman and roll call taken: Mr. Capano - Present; Mr. Whalen - Present; Mr. Flynn - Present. Chairman asked if there were any corrections, additions, or omissions to Minute No. 106-S, each Commissioner and County Controller having received copies. Moved by Mr. Capano, seconded by Mr. Whalen, that Minute No. 106-S be approved, as read. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Capano - Yes; Mr. Whalen - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT #5: Moved by Mr. Whalen, seconded by Mr. Capano, that the salary of Betty J. Timko, part-time temporary secretary for Magistrate John M. Richardson, be set at $130. 00 bi-weekly, effective October 15, 1971. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Capano - Yes; Mr. Whalen - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. JUVENILE DETENTION HOME: Moved by Mr. Capano, seconded by Mr. Whalen, that a voucher be prepared in the amount of $136. 00 for Daniel Luppino, Detention Home Counselor, who worked a total of 40 hours @ $3. 40 per hour for the dates from October 13, '1971 - October 26, 1971. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Capano - Yes; Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. TAX ASSESSMENT: Jack Moore, field appraiser for the Tax Assessment Office, has terminated his employment with Washington County, effective Friday, October 15, 1971. Moved by Mr. Capano, seconded by Mr. Whalen, that the salaries of the following employees be set as indicated: WASHINGTON CO. HOME FOR AGED WOMEN: Name: Salary: Effective Date: Sara L. Segursky, R.N. $27. 60 per day November 1, 1971 WASHINGTON CO. HOME & HOSPITAL: Name: Salary: Effective Date: Ermando Petrarca, Housekeeper $1. 90 per hour October, 1971 rehired, replacing Isaac E. Lewis, who resigned. Clarence E. Brown, Orderly, $1. 90 per hour October 22, 1971 replacing Earl B. Day, who was dismissed. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Capano - Yes; Mr. Whalen - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Note: Delete Edward Louis, Orderly, from County Home Payroll, effective October 7, 1971 due to dismissal. BUILDING MAINTENANCE: Moved by Mr. _Capano, seconded by Mr. Whalen, that the salary of Arthur Wise, Boiler Fireman (permanent) replacing Earl Sloneker, who resigned, b@ set at $202. 00 bi-weekly, effective October 21, 1971. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Capano - Yes; Mr. Whalen - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. BEVEC, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS CLERK OF COURTS: Moved by Mr. Capano, seconded by Mr. Whalen, that the salary of Janice Yorty, clerk in the Clerk of Courts Office be set at $130, 00 bi-weekly, effective October 11, 1971 (temporary); then at $136. 50 bi-weekly, effective October 25, 1971 (permanent). Also included in this motion is that the salary of Diana M. Popper, clerk (permanent) in the Clerk of Courts Office be set at $136. 50 bi-weekly, effective October 25, 1971. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Capano - Yes; Mr. Whalen - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. TREASURER'S OFFICE: Moved by Mr. Capano, seconded by Mr. Whalen, that the following Extra Help Payroll for the dates from October 16, 1971 - October 29, 1971 be approved for payment: Marjorie Celani 58 1/2 Hours @ $2. 00 per hour $117. 00 Harriet Giles 58 1/2 Hours @ $2. 00 per hour $117. 00 Eve Werst 45 1/2 Hours @ $2. 00 per hour $ 91. 00 $235. 00 Roll call vote taken: Mr. Capano - Yes; Mr. Whalen - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. CIVIL DEFENSE: Moved by Mr. Capano, seconded by Mr. Whalen, that Charles O. Bohner, Executive Director, Washington County Civil Defense, be granted an annual increment from Step G - at $313. 00 bi-weekly to Step H - at $329. 00 bi-weekly, effective November 1, 1971. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Capano - Yes; Mr. Whalen - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. SHERIFF'S OFFICE: Moved by Mr. Capano, seconded by Mr. Whalen, that the employment status of Charles W. Adams be adjusted from probationary (at $245. 00 bi-weekly) to regular deputy sheriff (at $263. 00 bi-weekly) effective November 1, 1971.
