JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Minute No. 22-S Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa. , October 12, 1972 The Salary Board of the County of Washington met in the Office of the County Commissioners with the following members being present: Commissioners Jones and Flynn, and Controller Elish. Absent being: Commissioner Paluso. Also present being: Administrative Assistant Whalen. Meeting called to order by Chairman and roll call taken: Mr. Jones - Present; Mr. Paluso - Absent; Mr. Elish - Present; Mr. Flynn - Present. Chairman asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 21-S, each Commissioner and County Controller having received copies. Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elish, that Minute No. 21-S be approved, as read. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT #14: Mr. Whalen read letter of resignation under date of October 4, 1972 from Lois Stewart, Secretary, Magisterial District #14. Remarks: Mr. Whalen: She sent n copy of this to Judge Sweet. But this actually involves the closing of that magisterial office. Mr. Flynn: We have a lease with them, .too. We are paying the rent there. Mr. Elish: What are we going to do, abolish the office out there? Mr. Flynn: Here, again, it is Judge Sweet. Of course the governor makes the appointment. Albert Ferralli in Canton Township has come to Mr. Whalen and me on this and he is handling this. The one that sets up the districts in compliance with the law is Judge Sweet, President Judge, not us. We are still under a lease arrangment and have to pay the rent. Mr. Elish: That's very nice of Mrs. Stewart to resign. Mr. Jones: She has been in here talking to us. We have a lease with these people. We would like to know what their plans are. Whether they are planning on consolidating or what. BRIDGE DEPARTMENT: Mr. Whalen read correspondence under date of October 4, 1972, from Eugene Tenaglia, Bridge Engineer, stating that Donald Rullo, employee of the Bridge Department has resigned from his duties on September 29, 1972, due to returning to school. • RECORDER OF DEFDDS: Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elish, that the salary of Kathy Yanek, temporary clerk in the Recorder of Deeds Office, be set at $136. 50 bi-weekly effective October 23, 1972. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. CHILD WELFARE SERVICES: Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elish, that the salary of Herbert Caponi, Caseworker Trainee for Child Welfare Services, be set at $7772. 00 annually, effective November 13, 1972. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Please Note: Resignation of Tona Rocco, Caseworker, due to her joining the Air Force. TAX ASSESSMENT OFFICE: Please Note: Termination of the temporary employment of Judy Cadez in the Tax Assessment Office, effective September 29, 1972. JUVENILE DETENTION HOME: Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elish, that a voucher be prepared in the amount of $141. 10 for Daniel Luppino, Detention Home Counselor, who worked a total of 41 1/2 Hours @ $3. 40 per hour for the dates from September 27, 1972 - October 3, 1972. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elish, that the remuneration for Dr. H. S. Hutchison, reviewing physician for the Hospital Utilization Review Program, Washington County Home for the aged, be set at $100. 00 per month, effective Sept. 1, 1972. HOME FOR AGED WOMEN: Name: Salary: Effective Date: Marshall Hanna, Watchman $18. 30 per day or September 26, 1972 $183. 00 bi-weekly + Mary Beth Bukovinsky, Nurses Aide $18. 30 per day or October 7, 1972 $183. 00 bi-weekly Arthur Wise, Watchman $18. 30 per day or September 29, 1972 $183. 00 bi-weekly Please Delete the Following Due to Resignation: Marshall Hanna, Watchman, effective September 29, 1972 Irma R. Weimer, effective September 26, 1972 WASHINGTON CO. HOME & HOSPITAL FOR MEN: Name: Salary: Effective Date: William R. Beyer, Orderly $2. 00 per hour October 4, 1972 replacing Clarence E. Brown who resigned Davolia E. Marchesi, Kitchen $2. 00 per hour October 5, 1972 Aide replacing Jennie M, Knizner who resigned Sharon Campbell, Kitchen Aide $2. 00 per hour October 19, 1972 Please Delete: Jennie M. Knizner, effective September 14, 1972 Lowe M. Hawkins, effective September 29, 1972. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. SHERIFF'S OFFICE: Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elish, that the salary of the following be set as indicated: A. J. Scicchitano, Special Deputy, for his services in regards to David Lucy, Inmate Is apprehension on October 5, 1972 - $20. 00 Paula Teagarden, Matron - total of 10 days - amount due $300. 00. Also included in this motion is that the salaries of the following be held in abeyance. Payment of $20. 00 to the following deputies, when Frank Burkins, was requested to be taken to Washington Hospital by Centerville Clinic at once by warrant on Sept. 29, 1972: John Popielarczyk Thomas DeFabbo Albert Giles
