BEYEC, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Minute No. 32-S Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., March 15, 1973 The Salary Board of the County of Washington met in the Office of the County Com- missioners with the following members being present: Commissioners Jones, Paluso, and Flynia, and Controller Elish. Also present being: Judge Sweet; Judge DiSalle; Sheriff Debreczeni; Chief Clerk Murphy; Administrative Assistant Whalen; Assistant Solicitor Gilmore; Reporter Budinger of the Observer -Reporter; Reporter Liesch of the Brownsville Telegraph; Reporter Roule of the Monongahela Publishing Company; and Jack Merdian of WJPA. Meeting called to order by Chairman and roll call taken: Mr. Jones - Present; Mr. Paluso - Present; Mr. Elish - Present; Mr. Flynn - Present. Chairman asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 31-S, each Commissioner and County Controller having received copies. as read. COURTS: Moved by Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mr. Jones, that Minute No. 31-S be approved, Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Moved by Judge DiSalle, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that the salary of John A. Piganell, Chief Juvenile Probation Officer for Washington County, replacing Anthony Luppino, be set at $10, 432. 00 annually, effective March 19, 1973. Roll call vote taken: Judge DiSalle - Yes; Mr, Jones - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr, Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Moved by Judge DiSalle, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that the salary of John R. Penderville, Juvenile Probation Officer, be set at $305.00 bi-weekly, effective March 19, 1973; Also included in this motion is that the employment status of Pamela Siegel, Pro- bation Officer, be changed from temporary to permanent, at the same salary she is receiving. Roll call vote taken: Judge DiSalle - Yes; Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr, Paluso - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. JOHN MAZZA, C.OMMISMONERS 1 Moved by Judge DiSalle, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that Carl Sperl be transferred from As present position as Court Duty Officer to the position of investigator in the Adult Probation Dffice at the same salary he is receiving now, effective March 26, 1973; Also included in this motion is that Thomas Mears be transferred from his position is Investigator in the Adult Probation Office to the position of Court Duty Officer at the same ;glary he is presently receiving, effective March 26, 1973. Roll call vote taken: Judge DiSalle - Yes; Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Judge DiSalle left the meeting. ,Judge Sweet left the meeting. DISTRICT ATTORNEY' S OFFICE: Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Elish, that the salary of John F. Bell, full Jme First Assistant District Attorney, be set at $769. 25 bi-weekly, effective March 1, 1973. Phis is partially funded by the Governor's Justice Commission, and will only be a temporary Cull time appointment. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. PLANNING COMMISSION: Chief Clerk read letter of resignation from James P. Huber, Administrator, Wash- ington County Planning Commission, stating that he will be resigning effective April 2, 1973. Mr. Flynn requested that a letter of thanks be sent. BUILDING MAINTENANCE: Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elish, that the salary of Charles Garbutt, Janitor -Maintenance, be set at $183.00 bi-weekly, effective March 19, 1973. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. WEIGHTS & MEASURES: Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elish, that the salary of Frank J. Jones, Assistant Sealer, be set at $192.00 bi-weekly, effective March 19, 1973. JUVENILE DETENTION HOME: Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elish, that a voucher, be prepared in the amount of $122. 40 for Daniel Luppino, Detention Home Counselor, :who worked a total of 36 hours @ $3. 40 per hour for the dates from February 28, 1973 March 13, 1973. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. PARKS & RECREATION: Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that Mr. Congie's request for two additional people to help with the Outdoor Educational Program on a part-time basis (approxi- mately half a day for the months of April, May, September, October and November) be approvedw Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. WASHINGTON CO. PRISON: Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elfish, that the salaries of the following employees be approved for payment: Alverta Denson, Assistant Matron - from salary to per diem salary of $16. 80, effective March 17, 1973. Francis J. Rosmon and Stanley J. Danvers - per diem salary of $24. 15, effective March 19, 1973, as Jail Guards. Clara R. McWreath, Matron - March 1 thru IIth - 10 days @ $16. 80 Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously.
