Motion carried unanimously. TREASURER IS OFFICE: Moved by Mr. Elish, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that the following extra -help payroll ending August 17, 1973, be approved: Theresa Gergitch $136. 50 bi-weekly Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Paluso� = Yes; Nfr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. (It was noted that Mr. Morgan be contacted since he advised Mr. Whalen that effective July 6, 1973, he would not be expending any more money this year for extra help in his office. Also present being: Chief Clerk and County Administrator Whalen; Solicitor Hormell; Assistant Solicitor Gilmore; Judge DiSalle; District Attorney Costa; Sheriff Debreczeni Mike George, Director, Department of Parks and Recreation; Reporter Carson of The Observer - Reporter; and Earl Bugaile of WKEG Radio. Meeting called to order by Chairman and roll call taken: Mr. Jones - Present; Mr. Paluso - Present; Mr. Elish - Present; Mr. Flynn - Present. Chairman asked if there were any corrections, additions, or omissions to Minute No. 42-S, each Commissioner and County Controller having received copies. Motion carried unanimously. Judge DiSalle informed the Board that on August 3, 1973, a Court Omer was signed by the Honorable Judges Sweet, DiSalle, and Gladden appointing Nicholas A. Nardine as Court Crier to Judge Richard DiSalle, replacing Charles Wise, effective August 13, 1973, at the salary of $263. 00 bi-weekly subject to the approval of the Salary Board. Discussion was held on this subject. Moved by Judge DiSalle, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that Nichola-s A. Nardine be employed as Court Crier to Judge Richard DiSalle, replacing Charles Wise-, at'the salary of $263. 00 bi-weekly, effective September 3, 1973. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - No; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Judge DiSalle - Yes; Mr. Flynn - No. Motion carried. (Judge DiSalle left the meeting. ) DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE: For the record only: Resignation of Roger J. Ecker, Assistant District Attorney, effective August 31, 1973 Moved by Mr. Costa, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that Fred J. Sentner, be employed as Assistant District Attorney, replacing Roger J. Ecker, at the salary of $245. 00 bi-weekly, effective September 3, 1973. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Costa - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. For the record only: Resignation of Christine Czoka, effective August 31, 1973. (A lengthy discussion was held on the process of filling vacancies in accordance with the pro- visions of the union contract. ) Moved by Mr. Costa, seconded by Mr. Elish, that Pennie Foil be employed to re- place Christine Czoka on an emergency basis at the salary of $150. 50 bi-weekly, effective September 3, 1973, with the understanding that the provisions of the union contract with respect to senority must be honored and obeyed. CHIEF ASSESSOR'S OFFICE: Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Flynn, that the position of Kay Lawrence be changed from Acting Assistant Chief Assessor to Assistant Chief Assessor with an increase in salary from $257. 50 to $282. 50 bi-weekly, effective August 20, 1973. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. JUVENILE DETENTION HOME: Moved by Mr. Elish, seconded by Mr. Jones, that a voucher be prepared in the amount of $137. 70 for Daniel Luppino, Detention Home Counselor, who worked a total of 40Z hours @ $3.40 per hour for the dates from August 15, 1973 thru August 28, 1973. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. (Mr. Elish left the meeting.) CHILD WELFARE SERVICES: Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Flynn, that Marcia Wilson, Caseworker, be granted an increment in salary from an annual salary of $9, 454. 00 to $9, 923. 00, effective September 17, 1973. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. PARKS AND REEREATION: For the record: Earl Masters dismissed for just cause at the end of the work day on September 7, 1973. Richard Stotka, Zeryl Swann, and Hugh Woodruff be suspended for just cause for a period of ten work days without pay, effective at the end of the work day on September 7, 1973. 1 1 SALARY MINUTE BOOK `` 251 BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA MICHAEL R. BEYEC, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS 1 The Board held in abeyance the employment of Robert Salko, Gary Corfont, and Sam Marcolini on a temporary basis at Ten Mile Creek Park at $2. 00 per hour and also Glenn Cala- bria on a temporary basis at Mingo Creek Park at $2. 00 per hour until the Board receives further clarification on temporary employment. (Mr. Elish re-entered the meeting.) , WOMEN'S HOME: For the record only: Resignation of Nancy Reed, Nurse's Aide, effective August 31, 1973. Resignation of Jeanne Coakley, Nurse's Aide, effective August 17, 1973. Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Jones, that the salary of Patricia Sinclair, Nurse's Aide replacing Jeanne Coakley, be set at $16. 00 per day or $160. 00 bi-weekly, effec- tive August 27, 1973, on a temporary basis provided that the union contract conditions are met with regards to bidding for this job. PLANNING COMMISSION: Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that William Holzapfel be employed temporarily at $2. 90 per hour effective August 29, 1973, replacing William Standish, for the PennDOT Traffic Count Program.
