Office of the County Commissioners
Washington, Pa. , October 26, 1973
A Special Meeting of the Salary Board of the County of Washington met in the Office
of the County Commissioners at approximately 2:30 p.m. with the following members being
present: Commissioners Jones and Flynn and Controller Elish. Absent being: Commissioner
Paluso. Also present being: Chief Clerk and County Administrator Whalen; and Mr. Harmon O.
Pritchard from Huggins & Company, Actuary for the Washington County Retirement Fund.
(NOTE: This Special Meeting of the Salary Board was mutually agreed upon, without notice,
by the two Majority Commissioners and the County Controller in order for the following em-
ployees to be paid. )
OFFICE OF CIVIL DEFENSE:
Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elish, approving a salary increase for
Charles O. Bohner, Executive Director, from $346. 58 to $365. 63 bi-weekly ($9, 506. 60
annually), effective November 1, 1973.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Jones - Yes; Mr. Elish - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
MEWS HOME:
Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elish, that Jack H. Howell, Pharmacist,
replace Thomas H. Baynham, Pharmacist, while he is on vacation from October 22 to October
28, 1973, at the rate of $13.46 per day.
Also included in this motion is that Robert L. Mills, Richard E. Sumney, and Louis S.
Findley be employed as Maintenance Man -Watchmen on a temporary basis at the salary of
$192. 61 bi-weekly, effective October 17, 1973.

Motion carried unanimously.
WOMEN'S HOME:
Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elish, that Mary Long, Nurse's Aide, whose
employment under the PEP terminates on October 6, 1973, be placed on the County payroll at
the salary of $181.60 bi-weekly, effective October 8, 1973; and that Gail Adam, Medical Secre-
tary, whose employment under the PEP terminates on November 3, 1973, be placed on the
County payroll at the salary of $240.37 bi-weekly, effective November 5, 1973.
Also included in this motion is that John Miller be employed on a temporary basis

as a Watchman -Maintenance replacing John Wolfe at the rate of $19. 26 per day or $192. 60 bi-
weekly, effective October 19, 1973.
Also included in this motion is that Susan Mohr, Graduate Nurse, be placed on
the pay roll as a Registered Nurse at the salary of $309. 61 bi-weekly, effective October 13, 197:3.

PLANNING COMMISSION:
Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elish, that Mrs. Virginia Bigler whose
employment under the PEP terminates on November 2, 1973, be placed on the County Payroll
at the salary of $209. 62 bi-weekly, effective November 5, 1973.
Also included in this motion is that Mr. Roland Blake replace Mr. Robert Schris-
key on the Traffic Counting Program at the rate of $2. 90 per hour, effective October 23, 1973.

JUVENILE DETENTION HOME:
Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elish, that a voucher be prepared in the
amount of $139. 40 for Daniel Luppino, Counselor, who worked a total of 41 hours @ $3.40 per
hour for the dates from October 10 to October 23, 1973.

COUNTY PRISON:
Moved by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Elish, that the following part-time and per
diem payroll be approved for payment:

Mona McKeever, Matron
