Office of the County Commissioners
Washington, Pa. , January 2, 1968
Washington County Commissioners in compliance with the provisions of
the County Code, Article 5, Section 502, met in the meeting room of the County Commis -
sioners, for the purpose of re-organizing the Board of County Commissioners. Present
being: Commissioners Flynn, Bevec and Mazza. Also present being: County Solicitor
Capano, Chief Clerk Kittridge, Controller Elish, Deputy Controller Whalen and Mr.
Gillespie of the Washington-Greene County Community Action Corporation.
Roll call taken:
Mr. Bevec - Present; Mr. Mazza - Present; Mr. Flynn - Present.
Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Michael R. Flynn be
appointed as the Chairman of the Washington County Board of Commissioners, for a term
of four (4) years.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Abstained.
Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Flynn, that John P. Bevec be
appointed as the Secretary of the Washington County Board of Commissioners.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Bevec - Abstained; Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes.
Motion carried.
Treasurer Malcolm L. Morgan entered the meeting.
Moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Flynn, that in the event of the
absence of the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, John P. Bevec be appointed
as the Acting Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, to conduct the affairs of the
County.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Bevec - Abstained; Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes.
Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Bevec, that Thursday of each
week beginning at 10:00 a. m. , be designated as the regular meeting date of the Board of
County Commissioners.

Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza; that two (2) members
of the Board of County Commissioners constitute a quorum, empowered to act; this being
in compliance with the County Code.

In accordance with the County Code and in conjunction with the County
Treasurer, Malcolm L. Morgan, it is hereby moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr.
Bevec, that the following Banks of Banking Institutions be named the d epository of
of County Funds:
Pittsburgh National Bank, Washington, Pennsylvania
Mellon National Bank and Trust Company, Washington, Pennsylvania
First National Bank of Washington, Washington, Pennsylvania
and that Pittsburgh National Bank and First National Bank of Washington be notified of
their selection as a depository of County Funds and be requested to furnish bonds in the
amount of $500, 000. 00 and $320, 000. 00 respectively, to secure payment of deposits.

be appointed as the County Solicitor.

Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following
Agreement as submitted by County Solicitor Capano, be accepted.
AGREEMENT
I hereby stipulate and agree, in accordance with the provisions of
the County Code of 1955, Section 901, to pay all fees, attorney's fees and commissions
received by me from every source, as County Solicitor, into the County Treasury.
