A special meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was held on
Thursday, April 24, 1969, at 2: 30 p.m. with the following members being present:
Commissioners Bevec and Flynn. Absent being: Commissioner Mazza - due to a
death in the family. Also present being: Chief Clerk Murphy; County Solicitor Capano;

and Mr. Charles Gillespie of the Washington Greene Community Action Corporation.
Meeting called to order by Chairman and roll call taken:
Mr. Bevec - Present; Mr. Mazza - Absent; Mr. Flynn - Present.
County Solicitor Capano stated that the purpose of the meeting being
that an emergency has arisen as a result of no bids having been submitted for the
special ballots and that time being of the essence, it becomes necessary to obtain
quotes in order to have the ballots printed in time for the next election on May 20, 1969.
Chief Clerk Murphy reported that he has been able to obtain only one (1)
join quote from the Lydic Printing Company - Washington, Pennsylvania, and Badzik
Printing Service - Donora, Pennsylvania. Monongahela Publishing Company stated that
they were not in a position to handle the printing of the ballots. One Joint quote was
received from Lydic Printing Company and Badzik Printing Service in the amount of the
prices as set forth:
Approximately 125, 000 more or less white official ballots
price per thousand for ballots furnished $21. 00
Approximately 23, 000 pink official specimen ballots for
election districts
price per thousand for ballots furnished $14. 00
Seven Ingle sets for specimen ballots as set forth
attached specifications
price per seven sets $80. 00
For printing, binding, and delivering any re -run of
a ballot of any election district bedause of an error
