BEVEC, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS II Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Whalen of Burgettstown entered the meeting. Mr. Whalen inquired if any decision was made concerning Liquid Fuels Tax Fund monies, particularly when Burgettstown Borough would be receiving aid. It was explained that June 1st, 1964, was established as the cut-off date for applying for aid from the County. Mr. Whalen also inquired if help could be obtained from the County in removal of debris and two fallen trees from Raccoon Creek: Mr. Flynn requested that a letter seeking this aid be forwarded to the Commissioners and the Engineer's Office to be notified when they should visit this site. Mr. Debreczeni informed the Board that a certified check in the amount of $492, 560. 00 was received from Moore, Leonard & Lynch Company for the sale of bonds. Check deposited with the County Treasurer as of this date. adjourned. Motion by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that this meeting be Meeting adjourned. Also present being County Solicitor Capano, Chief Clerk Debreczeni, Budget Director Gillespie, Mrs. Flenniken, Director of the Tax Claim Bureau, Mr. Bradshaw and Reporters Crouse and Merdian. Meeting called to order by Chairman, Mr. Flynn, and roll call taken: Mr. Mazza - Present; Mr. Bevec - Present; Mr. Flynn - Present. Chairman asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 32, each commissioner having received a copy. Motion by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the letter of ' resignation as submitted by Edward J. Lee, Assistant Building Superintendent, be accepted, effective June 1, 1964. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following persons be appointed as Orderlies at the Washington County Home and Hospital for Men; this action to !be effective May 13, 1964. Both appointments are replacements. William Donald Smith replacing Lorenzo Penn Donald Sadler replacing Leonard Thomas I Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following sick leave and vacation policy be approved. Sick leave to be accrued at the rate of 1 and 1/4 days per month, not to exceed 15 working days in any one year and not to be accrued from year to year. After the third day of sick leave, illness to be substantiated by statement from medical doctor. In cases involving hardship and seniority, application may be made for extended sick leave which may be granted at the discretion of the County Commissioners. i Vacation to accrue at the rate of 1 day per month, not to exceed 12 I working days in any one year and not to be accrued from year to year. Vacations will be I granted based upon departmental work loads. No department will be understaffed for meritorious leave during peak work loads. j Remarks by Mr. Bevec: With reference to the last part of the sick leave. I feel that application ,for extended sick leave should be made on a merit basis, and recommendations to the Board of Commissioners should be made by the Head of the Department for approval. SEVEC, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS An of Highways to follow through with the Brockway Glass Company's request for the construction of a footbridge on Wylie Avenue, Canton Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. A letter to this effect to be directed to the Department of Highways and the Tylerdale Civic Betterment League. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the sum of $150.00 be set up as a "petty cash fund" for the Office of the Purchasing Agent. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried. unanimously. Mr. Flynn reported that the County had obtained a fire truck at no cost to the County. County's only requirement is that the truck.be kept indoors during the winter months. Chief Clerk instructed to check upon the cost of constructing a building to house the fire truck; also, upon the possibility of purchasing a but -type building, located near Canonsburg which soon will be dismantled. Mrs. Flenniken asked the Board to take action on the sale of various County -owned properties. Motion by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County Commissioners approve the sale of the following properties. Properties being repurchased by the owners in order to clear the cloud of the tax sale. Approval and consent received from all taxing districts involved.
