Board of County Commissioners met in special session with the follow-
ing members being present: Commissioners Flynn, Bevec and Mazza. Also present being
Controller Elish, Budget Director Gillespie, Purchasing Agent Kittridge and Chief Clerk
j Debreczeni, Jr.
Special meeting called to order for the purpose of either awarding or
rejecting of bids which were opened and read by the Deputy Controller on Thursday, Augus':
27, 1964, in accordance with specifications as advertised. At that time, all bids were
tabled in order to give the County Solicitor and Purchasing Agent an opportunity to analyze
1 all bids received.
Meeting called to order by Chairman and roll call taken:

F Mr. Kittridge reported that on Thursday afternoon, August 27, 1964,
he and Mr. Capano, County Solicitor, made a complete study of all bids received.
The following action was taken in either awarding or rejecting of bids
is made in conjenction with the opinion as rendered by the County Solicitor and Purchasing
Agent.
Motion by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the contract for
the furnishing and delivering of a one and one-half (1-1/2) ton stake body truck, (Dodge
Model D-500) be awarded to the GEORGE STEWART MOTOR COMPANY, 42 East Maiden
Street, Washington, Pennsylvania,
for
the total amount
of $3292. 13;
this being the
lowest
responsible bid received and being
in
accord with our
specifications.
Truck to be
used by
the Surplus Food Department.

Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the contract for
the furnishing and delivering of one accounting and cash register -type machine to be used
by the Prothonotary's Office, be awarded to the NATIONAL CASH REGISTER COMPANY,
355 Fleet Street, Pittsburgh 20, Pennsylvania, for the total amount of $2617. 79; this being
the lowest responsible and only bid received. Delivery date for said machine is 16 to 20
weeks after receipt of official order received by said company. Bid being in accord with
our specifications.

Motion by Mr, Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the contract for
the furnishing and delivering of the necessary ballots to the Office of the Election Depart-
ment of the County Commissioners for the conducting of the General Election to be held
on Tuesday, November 3, 1964, be awarded to the MONONGAHELA PUBLISHING COMPANY,
Monongahela, Pennsylvania and the WARD PRINTING COMPANY, Washington, Pennsylvania,
for the prices set forth in their joint bid; this being the lowest responsible bid received
and being in accord with our specifications.

Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the contract for
the furnishing and delivering of Election Supplies to the Office of the Election Department
of the County Commissioners for the conducting of the General Election to be held on
Tuesday, November 3, 1964, be awarded to the WILLIAM G. JOHNSTON COMPANY, P. O.
Box 6759, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for the total sum of $1950.00; this being the lowest
responsible and only bid received. Bid being in accord with our specifications.

Motion by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the contract for
the delivering of ballot boxes containing election supplies to the Judges of Election for the
approximate one hundred ninety-five (195) precincts of Washington County, for the General
Election to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 1964, be awarded to EARL RIGGLE, R. D.
4, Box 230, Washington, Pennsylvania and T. M. BEDILLION, R. D. 4, Box 217, Wash-
ington, Pennsylvania; this being a joint bid, for the total sum of $1, 000. 00; this being the
