Purchasing Agent an opportunity to review all bids received.
Mr. Flynn: Since this was the only bid received, and the representatives of the
Burroughs Corporation is present, the Solicitor and Purchasing Agent might review and
study the bid at this time and the contract be awarded.

The bid submitted was reviewed and studied by the Solicitor and Purchasing
Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the contract for the
purchasing and delivering of One only, new Burroughs or National Cash Register Book-
keeping Machine to be used by the Adult Probation Office of Washington County, Pennsyl-
vania, be awarded to the BURROUGHS CORPORATION, 887 National Road, Wheeling, West
Virginia, for the total amount of $6, 458. 40; this being the lowest responsible and only bid
received and being in accord with our specifications.

Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Bevec, that this meeting be
adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the following
members being present: Commissioners Flynn, Bevec and Mazza. Also present being:
Solicitor Capano, Chief Clerk Debreczeni, Jr., Mr. Basich of the Washington County
Planning Commission and Reporter Robertson.
Meeting called to order by Chairman and roll call taken:
Mr. Mazza - Present; Mr. Bevec - Present; Mr. Flynn - Present.
Chairman asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to
Minute No. 80, each Commissioner having received a copy.
Moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Bevec, that Minute No. 80, be
approved as read.

Washington County Child Welfare Services, be granted an increment in accordance with the
compensation plan for social workers, County Child Welfare Services, as approved by the
Office for Children and Youth, Department of Public Welfare; this action to be effective
May 1, 1965.

Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Mrs. Evangeline
Telleck, be appointed as a Social Worker II, Grade 28, with the Washington County Child
Welfare Services in accordance with Certification and Reinstatement from Resignation as
received from the State Civil Service Commission; this action to be effective April 19, 1965.

Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following resolu-
tion be adopted:
RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
EXECUTION OF ASSURANCE OF COMPLIANCE
WITH THE REGULATIONS OF THE HOUSING AND
HOME FINANCE AGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Regulations of the Housing and Home Finance Agency (24CFR, Sub-
title A, Part 1) issued pursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (P. L. 88-352)
require every contract for Federal financial assistance to be accompanied by an assurance
that the program or activity to be carried out will be conducted in compliance with the said
Regulations to the end that no person in the United States shall, on the ground of race,
color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or
be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal
financial assistance from the Housing and Home Finance Agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the Washington County Commissioners
as follows:
1. Washington County Commissioners hereby approves the Assurance of Compli-
ance with the Housing and Home Finance Agency Regulations under Title VI
of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Form CFA-1901) 3-65, received from the
Housing and Home Finance Agency.
