SEVEC, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS1 NO. 107 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa. , October 21, 1965 The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the following members being present: Commissioners Flynn and Mazza. Also present being Chief Cler Debreczeni, Jr. , Solicitor Capano, Controller Elish, Mr. Basich of the Washington County Planning Commission, Mr. Sittler of the Taxpayers' Association and Reporter Robertson. I Absent being Commissioner Bevec, who is attending an Anti-Poverty meeting in Washing- ton, D. C. Meeting called to order by Chairman and roll call taken: Mr. Mazza - Present; Mr. Bevec - Absent; Mr. Flynn - Present. Chairman asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 106, each Commissioner having received a copy. Moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Flynn, that Minute No. 106 be I approved as read. i Roll call vote taken: I Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. FlywL - Yes; Motion carried unanimously. Old Business: None Deputy Controller Whalen entered the meeting. Appointment: Moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Flynn, that Mike Midla be appointed as a Stationary Fireman at the Washington County Home and Hospital for Men; this action to be effective October 18; 1965. Mr. Midla is replacing Ambrose Palfi. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Chief Clerk presented the names of nominees submitted for the Soil and Water Conservation District Director received from the following approved county-wide organiza- tions: Jersey Breeder's Association, Washington County Holstein Club and the Washington County Guernsey Breeders' Association' with the latter two clubs having nominated Albert Miller. Mr. Miller is the present farmer-director of our County soil and water conserva- tion district, whose term expires January 1, 1966. The present director can be re-appoin ed if his name is submitted by one of the county-wide organizations. Moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Flynn, that Albert Miller be re- appointed as Farmer-Director of the Washington County Soil and Water Conservation District for a four-year term, commencing January 1, 1966. Roll call vote taken: 492 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGT13N COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA MICHAEL R. FLYNN, JOHN P. BEVEC, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Chief Clerk presented tax refunds to the Board for approval; said refunds having been approved by the County Treasurer, Tax Assessment Office, and the County Solicitor. Moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. 'Flynn, that the Tax Assessment Office be authorized to prepare the following tax refunds due to either duplication or over- payment of real estate tax. 1. Morton, Robert W. and Genevieve of Carroll Township. Tax in the amount of $42. 56 Net, was paid on August 1, 1965, and payment was duplicated on August 4, 1965, in the same amount, making a refund due in the amount of $42. 56 to Franklin Federal Savings and Loan Association, 5816 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15217. 2. Turberville, Charles J. and Audrey J. of South Strabane Township. Tax in the amount of $40. 96 was paid on July 6, 1965 on assessed valuation of $3080. Tax in the amount of $57. 06 was paid on July 22, 1965, on assessed valuation of $4290. , this being the correct payment. Both payments were made by First Federal Savings and Loan Associa- tion, South Main Street, Washington, Pennsylvania, making a refund due in the amount of $40. 96 to First Federal Savings and Loan Associ- ation, South Main Street, Washington, Pennsylvania. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Flynn, that the following changes in polling places (changes of place or rental) be approved for the coming Municipal Election, November 2, 1965, having received no objections to date. Washington 2-2 From: Alderman Lohr's Office Reason: Demolition of building Former rental - $25. 00 To: Immaculate Conception Church Convent North Franklin Street Rental - $25. 00 Fallowfield 1 From: Township Building Reason: Township building is now in No. 4 precinct To: Joseph Dzik residence Coyle-Curtin Road, R. D. 2, Monongahela Rental - $251'00 Note: The above polling place was changed from the Township Building to the F Fallowfield Community Church. Mr. Quail was later informed that the. Church had an event scheduled for Election Day, so it will be necessary to make the above change.
