BEVEC, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Book 1104 Page 621, situate in Cecil Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and formerly assessed in the name of Raymone E. and Josephine O'Korn be approved and that the sum of $150.00 be accepted from ED`JVARD O. MONACO AND DORA MONACO, his wife, AND PATSY CONOSCUITO AND MARIE, his wife. Washington County Tax Claim Bureau receiving approval and consent of the taxing districts involved: Canon -McMillan School District - November 18, 1965 and Cecil Township Road Supervisors - November 18, 1965. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the application of -Washing- ton County to the Housing and Home Finance Agency for an advance to aid in financing preliminary and final planning for the new Proposed Juvenile Detention Home, be approved and filed with the United States of America, under the terms of Public Law 560, 83rd Congress of the United States, as amended. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Bevec, that a resolution be adopted to authorize the County of Washington to borrow the sum of $1, 250, 000. 00 on a take -down basis; the Chief Clerk and the County Controller to secure quotation on the interest rates from the various banking institutions. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the meeting adjourn. Meeting adjourned. Chairman asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 116, each Commissioner having received a copy. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Minute No. 116, be approved as read. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Deputy Controller Whalen entered the meeting. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following resolution f be adopted concerning Project 70 Land Acquisition and borrowing and that the Chairman of the Board, Michael R. Flynn, be authorized to execute all the necessary papers in, connection therewith. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Project 70 Land Acquisition and borrowing act no. 8 Special Session of 1964, provides that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will make assistance grants in the amount of fifty per cent of the purchase price for land to be acquired by a political subdivision, or an agency legally created thereby, for recreation, conservation and historical purposes, -and WHEREAS, the WASHINGTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS desires to participate in the Project 70 Land Acquisition Assiatance Program and acquire the land specified in the Application, and obtain assistance from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, NOW, THEREFORE, -BE IT RESOLVED by the WASHINGTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, as follows: ' 1. That the Washington County Board of Commissioners _ hereby approves legal name of applicant the filing of the Application for Project 70 Land Acquisition Assistance Grant. 2. That the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners is hereby title of officer authorized and directed to execute and file Form BCD-70-3, Application for Project 70 Land Acquisition Grant, Part II, Grant Request Contract, with the Bureau of Community Development, Department of Commerce, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, request an assistance grant in the amount of Two Hundred Twenty Thousand Five Hundred Dollars. CERTIFICATE OF RECORDING OFFICER I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of the resolution adopted by the Washington County Board of Commissioners, at a name of governing body duly convened meeting held on the 13th day of January, 1966, and that I am duly authorized to execute this certificate. Old Business: None Appointment: Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Eugene Tenaglia be appoint- ed as Bridge Engineer of the Washington County Bridge Department; this action to be effec tive January 17, 1966. Mr. Tenaglia is replacing Dushan J. Nicksick, who resigned. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Correspondence: The Directors of the Washington County Fair Board requested permission from the County Commissioners to remove unprotected box seats and make any other necessary repairs to the grandstand in readiness for the Fair to be held in August, 1966. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that permission to remove the unprotected box seats and make any other necessary repairs to the grandstand as requester by the Directors of the Washington County Fair Board, be granted. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Flynn -,Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Harry R. Sutherland, Jr., Executive Director of the Washington -Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency, requested the first quarter allocation of $3, 744. 00; one-fourth of the annual appropriation. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the sum of $3, 744. 00 as appropriated, be approved for payment to the Washington -Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Association Dues and Expenses for the year 1966, due the Pennsylvania State Association of County Commis- sioners, in the amount of $325.00 be approved for payment; check to be mailed to James A. Green, Secretary -Treasurer, Courthouse, Butler, Pennsylvania. Roll call vote taken: Mr, Mazza - Yes; Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Chief Clerk presented the following tax refund to the Board for approval; said 1 1 refund having been approved by the County Treasurer, Tax Assessment Office, and the !County Solicitor.
