New Business:
Mr. Capano made a recommendation to the Board, that the Chief Clerk to the
County Commissioners be made a Notary Public.
Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Chief Clerk to the
County Commissioners be authorized to apply for a Notary Public Commission in and for
the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Motion carried unanimously.
In accordance with recently adopted legislation authorizing the County Commis-
sioners to become members of National Associations, it is hereby moved by Mr. Bevec
and seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Washington County Board of Commissioners join the
National Association of County Commissioners.

Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the following
members being present: Commissioners Flynn, Bevec and Mazza. Also present being:
County Solicitor Capano, Chief Clerk Kittridge, Deputy Controller Whalen, Mr. Charles
Bradshaw, Mr. Sittler of the Taxpayers" Association, bidders representing the I. Richman
Company and an insurance company and Reporter Robertson.
Meeting called to order by Chairman and roll call taken:
Mr. Bevec - Present; Mr. Mazza, Present; Mr. Flynn - Present.
Chairman asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to
Minute No. 123, each Commissioner having received a copy.
Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Minute No. 123, be
approved as read.

Moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Bevec, that the contract for the
furnishing and delivering of steel materials for the reconstruction .of the Myers School
Bridge No, 19, Ten Mile Creek, be awarded to the I. RICHMAN AND COMPANY, P. O.
Box 232, Washington, Pennsylvania 15301, in the total amount of $2, 190. 00; this being
the lowest responsible bid received and being in accord with our specifications. Motion
made upon the recommendation of the County Solicitor.

made upon the recommendation of the County Solicitor.

Chief Clerk: Submitted various reports to the Board for action.
Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County Controller be
authorized to advertise for the printing and delivering to the Office of the County Treas-
urer, Current 1966 Tax Notices and Receipts. Bids to be received by the County Con-
troller in his Office in the Courthouse, Washington, Pennsylvania, until 11: 00 a.m.,
Eastern Standard Time, Thursday, March 3, 1966, and publicly opened immediately
thereafter in the Office of the County Commissioners.

the Borough of New Eagle, Pennsylvania, to serve out the unexpired term of Richard
( Dick) Rostos ky, who resigned.

Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Raymond J. Daniels, R. D.

of the Borough of Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, to serve out the unexpired term of the
duly elected assessor, E. C. Carmichael, due to the death of Mr. Carmichael.

Government at the Holiday Inn, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to be held the 17th and 18th of
February, 1966, to represent Washington County.

Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that John Showalter,
Superintendent of the Washington County Home for Aged Women, be authorized to attend a
Seminar at the Pennsylvania State University on March 7 through 10, 1966, for County
Commissioners and Superintendents of County Homes on New Ideas in Institution Care.

Chief Clerk read letter of confirmation from the General -Adjustment
Bureau, Inc., a capital stock insurance organization, to Amanati & Tucci Insurance Agency,
that a payment in the amount of $1, 897. 00 would be made payable to the County regarding
the electrical damage loss that occurred on February 16, 1965.

Letter under date of February 16; 1966, from John F. Cromwell,
Director of the Washington County Planning Commission, recommended to the Washington
County Commissioners that office space located at the third floor of the building at 20
South Main Street; also known as the Brown Building, be leased for a period of approxi-
mately two and one-half years at a rental of $360. 00 per month; that consideration be
given to leasing additional room on the fourth floor for storage purposes and certain
furnishings presently on the said premises for an amount not to exceed $20. 00 per month.
A three page report showing the data the Planning Commission considered in making the
recommendation was attached to the letter. Mr. Whalen reported touring the building
with Mr. Cromwell and finds the space to be adequate and proper for the Planning
Commission and also for the Parks and Recreation Department.
