Chief Clerk submitted to the Board information concerning the space required for the Pennsylvania Army National Guard at the Washington County Airpo that was discussed. Moved by Mr.. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Board of Com- missioners, County of Washington, agree to construct a building at the Washington County Airport to be occupied by the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, subject to a lease negotiation which would adequately accomodate the County of Washington, for their inve Roil call vote taken: Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Flynn - Yes. Pavlak, Chief Sealer of Weights and Measures, be authorized to attend and participate in the Fifty -First (51st) National Conference on Weights and Measures which will convene on July 11, 1966, for a period of Five (5) days at the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver, Colorado. Chief Clerk - Correspondence: Correspondence under date of April 25, 1966, from the Honorable Hubert H. Humphrey, Vice President of the United States, enclosed information concerning things that could be done to promote United States Savings Bonds; most importantly, to organize a campaign among the County employees to, buy bonds on payroll savings. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Peter Elish, County Controller, be appointed as Chairman to conduct an active campaign to encourage county employees to buy bonds on payroll savings. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Bevec - Yes; Mr. Mazza Yes; Mr. - Flynn - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Notification received from the National Association of Counties, contained infor- mation concerning a County Federal AW Coordinators Program Conference to be held at the ashington Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C. , on June 5, 6, and 7, 1966. The purpose duties of a County Federal Aid Coordinator will be part of the tentative program at first meeting in the history of local Federal Aid Coordinators. Each County is urged send a delegate to the First Annual Federal Aid Coordinators Conference. Moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Flynn, that Commissioner John P. Bevec and Mr. Charles Gillespie, Executive Director of the Washington -Greene County Community Action Corporation, be authorized to attend the First Annual Federal Aid Coordinators Con- erence on June 5, 6, and 7, 1966, at the Washington Hilton Hotel, Washington, D.C., o represent the Board of Commissioners of Washington County, Pennsylvania. Information concerning participation in the National Association of Counties Federal Aid Service was received in letter from James L. Martin; Assistant of Federal Relations; said service is only available - on a county -unit basis; therefore, the ctor county would have to subscribe to the County Information Service which includes the Federal Aid Service; the twelve -Month subscription fee being $460.00. Major aspects co ered by the Federal Aid Service were outlined and the information provided member counties of the NACO was enclosed. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Washington County membership on the National Association of Counties Federal Aid Service be approved; and that the County Information Service twelve-month subscription fee in the amount of $460.00 be approved for payment. Letter under date of May 3, 1966, from the Mayor of the City of Washington, forwarded a copy of the proposal submitted by the Commonwealth Sanitation Company, 3567 Bigelow Boulevard, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, covering their services for the control of pigeons and starlings, at a cost of $2, 400. 00 (cost of initial service - $1200. 00;) cost of monthly maintenance control service following completion of initial eradication program - $100 per month for a periof of twelve months; costs to be shared as follows: Borough of East Washington $320.00 I County of Washington 480.00 Washington School Board 800.00 City of Washington 800.00 j Total $2400. 00 Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County's share: for the control of pigeons and starlings involving county -owned buildings located in the area surrounding and including the Courthouse, in the amount of $480.00, be approved. Requests for authorization to attend a conference to be held in Hershey, Penn- sylvania on May 9 through 13, 1966, with reference to the Domestic Relations Office, and a seminar to be held in Washington, D.C., with reference to the Office of the District Attorney, were presented to the Board. Moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Bevec, that the above requests be tabled as submitted until the next meeting of the Board of County Commissioners. Remarks: Chief Clerk was instructed to notify all Department Heads that funds not included -)n the budget would not be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Bourke, Jr., Executive Director of the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington, requisitioned their second quarterly payment of Fourteen Thousand, Five Hundred Sixty Nine Dollars ($14, 569. 00) against the County Budget. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the second quarterly payment in the amount of Fourteen Thousand, Five Hundred Sixty -Nine ($14, 569. 00) Dollars, to the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington, be approved for payment. Quotations submitted for the paving of the parking area and driveways in the vicinity of the Ohio Valley Piper Sales office building and warehouse area at the Washington County Airport were presented to the Board; prices quote-d being: $2334. 00, $1350.00; and $904.80. Moved by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Bevec, that the quotation as submitted by Pompei Paving, R. D. 2, Finleyville, Pennsylvania, for the paving and parking area and driveways in the vicinity of the Ohio Valley Piper Sales area at the Washington County Airport in the amount of $904.80, be accepted; this being the lowest responsible quotation submitted. Cohen, Dentist at the Washington County Jail, requesting his yearly retainer fee in the amount of $250.00 was presented to the Board. Motion carried unanimously. Mrs. Flenniken reported briefly on the results of the Tax Sale held on April 28, 1966; each Board member will receive a complete copy of the results. Mrs. Flenniken also presented the following items to the Board, having been approved by the Tax Claim Bureau Solicitor; request the County Commissioners adopt a Resolution to cancel a portion of the Tax Sale of 1918 and authorize the Tax Claim Bureau to cancel a of the Treasurer's Tax Sale - C. H. Blakenley, Lots 9, 10, 20, 41, 43, Blainesburg, Eas Pike Run (1915-1916-1917-1918); portion to be cancelled is for lots 9 and 10, inasmuch as the assessment of lots 9 and 10, C. H. Blakenley was an improper assessment for said years; the Tax Claim Bureau, the Tax Assessment Office, and the Prothonotary's Office are hereby directed to mark their records accordingly.
