Washington, Pax January 4, 1960
Francis E. Pettit, J. Blatch Cummins and John Mazza, elected County Commissioners
of Washington County, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, at the Municipal Election hold on the first
Tuesday after the first Monday of November., 1959, not in the Office of the County Comaisatoners
in the Courthouse., in the City of Washington., Pennsylvania., at llt15 am., an Mondayp January
4s 1960s being the first Monday of January following the said Election., for the purpose of
assuming their offices., their respective bonds having been approved and filed with the County
Controllers and the oaths of office of the said County Commissioners subscribed to before the
Court of Common Pleas at 10:00 aom., of the said mondays January 4s 196os and fi3od with the
Prothonotary as required by the Act of Assembly.
The Board of County Commissioners proceeded to organize and upon notion by Mro
Cummins., seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Francis E. Pettit., be elected Chairman of the Board of
County Commissioners,
Notion carried unanimously.
Following remarks made by Mr. Mazza, *Having served with Mr. Pettit as Chairman
of the Board of County Commissioners for the past eight (8) years it has been my pleasure to
receive the courtesy and cooperation from him as a member of this Board and I am sure that the
same relationship with him and Mr. Cummins shall continue in the future,"
Motion by Mr. Pettit., seconded by Mr. Mazza., that J. Blatch Cumminss be elected
Secretary of the Board of County Commissioners.
Notion carried unanimously.
Notion by Mr, Cuminss seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Joseph Di Filippo, be appolvWl
as Chief Clerk to the County Commissioners, this action to be effective January 1s 1960*
Notion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Cummins., seconded by Mr. Mazza.. that Frank Jo Docktors be appointol
as County Solicitor.. this action to be effective January ls 1960.
Notion carried unanimously.
Notion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza., that Harry B. Crum-ins., be appointel
as Chief Engineer for the Washington County Engineering Departments this action to be effective
January ls 1960.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Cumnins., seconded by Mr. Mazza., that Protas J. Pavlaks be appoixtel
as Chief Sealer of Weights and Measures, this action to be effective January 1, 1960.
Motion carried unanimously.
Notion by Mr. Cummins., seconded by Mr. Mazza.. that the f*334ming persons be
appointed as department heads in their respective capacity.* this action iw ba effective Januw7
is 1960.
