BLATCH CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS of this creek, Mr. Lheureau advised the Commissioners, who will be sitting as the County Board of Assessment and Revievp that individual appeal hearings could be scheduled for early October. adjourned, There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting Office of the Ceunty Commissioners Washington, Pa., August 11,1 1960 Board of County Commissioners in special session for,the purpose of opening bids for the necessary ballots, election supplies and the delivering of balUi t boxes required for the conducting of the General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 83, 1960. Those present being Commissioners Pettit, Cummins., Mazza and Controller Elish. In accordance with the aforementioned advertisement the following bids were opened and read; Commissioners of Washington County Courthouse Washington, Pennsylvania In accordance with advertisement of the County Controller, inviting proposals for printing and delivering to the Office of the County Commissioners the necessary ballots for the conduct of the General Election is be held Tuesday.. November 8, 1960, having examined the attaches specifications and understanding the same, I or (we) propose to furnish said ballots in accordanc,3 therewith at the prices set forth: Approximately 100,000 regular white pfficial ballots price per thousand for ballets furnished. ; 41,50 Approximately 20,000 pink offiical specimen ballets for election districts. price per thousand for ballets furnished. 21.50 Approximately 200 regdlar white offUial military ballots, and as per specifications'as hereinafter set forth price per lot for ballets furnished. $285.00 Nine single sets for specimen ballots as set forth in attached specifications price per nine sets. $lo4,00 For printing, binding and delivering any reran of a ballot of any election district because of error on the part of any county employee minimum charge per district for re -run 100 ballots or less. $ 8.25 Charge per 100 re —run ballets for same district in addition to minimum charge, $ 3.75 A certified check in the amount of $500,00 is enclosed herewith as evidence that the bidder will accept same and carry out the conditions of the contract in case of award. Said boxes to be delivered to the Judges of Election for the one hundred eighty-eight (188) precincts of Washington County. Lotion carried unanimously with Mr. Elish leaving the meeting. At this time, the County Commissioners entered into a regular business meetinge Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the County Commissioners adopt the following Resolution for Washington County and the Townships of Smith, Jefferson and mn `tu MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA FRANCIS E. PETTIT, J. BLATCH CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Hanover all of Washington County, Pennsylvania. This resolution was requested by the U.S.A. Soil Conservation Service. R E S O L U T I O N FOR WASHINGTON COUNTY AND TOWNSHIPS ON THE HARMON CREEK WATER- SHED PROGRAM REQUESTED BY: U. S. A. SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Washington County Commissioners, The Supervisors of Smith, Jefferson and Hanover Townships of Washington County, Pennsylvania wish to reaffirm their interest in the Flood Control Projects of Harmon Creek and that they are prepared to cooperate with the U. S. Soil Conservation Service to secure the necessary land, easements, and rights -of -way for effectuating the Harmon Creek Flood Control as presently outlined. The above political subdivLsicm wish to cooperate with Pennsylvania State Agencies, where feasible to secure multi -purpose dams for water storage, recreation, fishing and preserva- tion of Wild Life. The above subdivisions will also assume maintenance of any Dam Sites. Because of the importance of this project to Washington County Communities and the Communities of West Virginia the named subdivisions urge the U. S. Soil Conservation Service to proceed As soon as possible in the necessary planning work so that construction of these Dams will not be delayed. Motion carried unanimously. t - Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr.- Cummins, that the following resolution for the changing of existing widths, lines and location of State Highway Route 62029; Section 1, located in Mt. Pleasant Township, Washington County, be adopted. R E S O L U T I O N BE IT RESOLVED by the Comi.ssi_oners of Washington County that the Plans submitted for the changing of existing widths; lines; and location of State Highway Route 62029; Sectioni, from Main Line Station 163 + 00.0 to Main Line Station 234 + o6.o in Mt. Pleasant Township, Washington County; have been examined by the County Commissioners and they agree that Washington County will not assume liability for any property damages resulting from the changing of the above named highway as contemplated by these Plans; or any damages arising out of any changes or alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of this highway; or any damages resulting to any property holdings of any Public Utility Company; nor will the County assume any damages resulting to any coal or minerals in and underlying the property affected by this improvement; but the Washington County will contribute the sum of Eight Thousand ($8,000.00) Dollars; to be paid in three increments toward the payment of property damages; as follows: $3,000.00 to be paid on or before January 1st, 1961 $3,000.00 to be paid on or before July lst, 1961 $2,OOO.00 to be paid on or before January 1st, 1962 The above contributions by Washington County are to be made with the under- stnading that payments will be due and payable only upon certifications from the Secretary of Highways that each of the above listed payments have been expended by the Department of Highways in the settlement of property damages for the aforesaid improvement. u Ll MINUTE BOOK �1 r J 11 BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA FRANCIs E. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that a refund voucher in the amount of $12.75 be made payable to Stella S. Karaulas 240 Caldwell Avenues Washington, Penns7lvanias for 1959 County Tax. On February 9s 1960, Stella Karaula paid her 1959 County Tix, at face, in the amount of $12.75, on property situate in Canton Townships Washington -County, Penneylvaniar described as Frame House, Part Lot 69 Ft Lot 70 Gordon Plan DB 982-19. This property was taken by the State for a thru-way and on April 26, 1960s, said property Mann removed from the tax duplicate for said year 1959 by tax adjustments therefore making a refund due. The Tax Assess- ment Office, upon proper certification from, the Corm Treasurer's Office and approval of the County Controller, is hereby authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $12.75 payable to Stella Karaula, 20 Caldwell Avenue, Washington, Pennsylvania. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that.a refund vowher in the amount of $14* 53 be made payable to Paul B. Ventura, 6700 Ridgeview Drive, Pittsburgh 36, Pennsylvania, due to a duplicate payment of 1960 County Tax. On July 10,9 1960, tax in the amount of $14,53 was paid on property situate in Carroll Township, Washington County, Pennsylvardas described as interest Lots 4-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15 and 16. Payment on this property was duplicated on August is 1960 when Paul B. Ventura again paid $U.53 on said described property. Therefore, the Tax Assessment Office, upon proper certification of duplicate payment from the County Treasurer's Office and approval of the County Controller, is hereby authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $U,53 payable to Paul E. Ventura, 6700 Ridgeview Drive, Pitts- burgh 36, Pennsylvania. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Mazza.. seconded by Mr. Cummins, than a refund voucher in the amount of $43,60 be made payable to F. J. Buckley Insurance Agency, Canonsburg, P lvania, due to a duplicate px7ment of 1960 County Tax. On July 16, 1960, tax in the amount of $43.60 was paid on property situate in the let Ward of Canonsburg, Washington County, lvania$ described as 2 story brick house Lot DB 10324�49 Gftil Improvement Ccmtpaxr Plata. Payment on this property was duplicated on August 1, 1960 when F. J. Buckley again paid $43.60 on said described property, Therefore, the Tax Assessment Office, upon proper certification of duplicate payment from the County Treasurer's Office and approval of the County Controller, is hereby authorized to prepare Insurance Agency said ref=d voucher in the amount of $43.60 payable to F. J. Buckley,/ , Pennsylvania. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Blond at this time., the meeting adjourned.
