THE FOREGOING MINUTE BEAD AND APPROVED: Decemb r 3 , 19 0 ATTEST : CHIEF CLERK / yyyy yyyy yy NO. 8 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., December 5, 1960 Board of County Commissioners in regular session those present being: Commissioners Pettit, Cummins and Mazza. At this time the Commissioners entered into a meeting with the Soil Conservation Board with Mr. James A. McGugin; of the Washington County Farm Bureau Co-operative, being present.. All farm organizations had been notified of this meeting for the election of a director to the Soil Conservation Board. It was recommended by Mr. McGugin, that Harry Hank, be re -appointed as a Director of the Soil Conservation Board for a four (4) year term. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Harry Hank, R. D. 1, Mononga- hela, Pennsylvania, be re -appointed for a four (4) year term, beginning January 1, 1961 and ending January 1, 1965. Motion carried unanimously, with Mr. McGugin, the Soil Conservation Representative being excused from the meeting. Motion by Mr: Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Francis E. Pettit, be appointed as Commissioner Member of the Board for a term of one (1) year. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by' Mr. Pettit, that Janet DeStefon, be appointed as a Clerk in the Tax Assessment Office, this action to be retroactive to December 1, 1960. Motion carried unanimously. n n Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Mr, John Duda, Jr.,, of Donora, Pennsylvania, ;whose appointment as a member of the Washington County Housing Aughority expires MINUTE BOOK 105, BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA FRANCIS E. PETTIT, J. SLATCH CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS P- the first Monday in January, 1961, be re -appointed for another five.(5) year term, commencing the first Monday of January, 1961. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that,a refund voucher in the amount of $5.60 be made payable to Vincent and Felice M. Gulyna, 919 McClintock Avenue, Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, for erroneous payment of 1957 and 1958 occupation tax, which Was listed with pro- perty situate in Charleroi Borough. Mr. & Mrs. Gluvna were not, during those years, and have not been residents of Charleroi Borough; non-residents are not required to pay occupation tax. Mr. & Mrs. Gluvna paid the 1957 county tax with penalty, the occupation portion in the amount of $2.80 on March 21, 1958, the 1958 County Tax was paid with penalty, on February 11, 1959, the occupation portion in the amount of $2.60. Therefore, the Tax Assessment Office is hereby w, authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $5.60 payable to Vincent and Felice M. Gluvna, 919 McClintock Avenue, Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. Receipts are on file in the Tax Assessment Office. Motion .carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of $1.22 be made payable to Anna Sies, 529 Main Street, West Brownsville, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Sies owns property in Centerville Borough, Washington County, and an occupation tax was placed on said property. Taxes were paid at discount on July 29, 1960. Mrs. Anna Sies resides with her husband, Joseph, in West Brownsville Borough, Washington County, where they jointly own property, and on which occupation tax is carried for both, thus making a duplicate occupation assessment for Anna Sies in both boroughs, this tax being paid on July 26, 1960. Therefore, the Tax Assess - ►pent Office, is hereby authorized to prepare said refound voucher in the amount of $1.22 payable to Anna Sies, 529 Main Street, West Brownsville, Pennsylvania. Receipts are on file in the Tax Assessment Office. - Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of $316.16 be made payable to Walter E. McGrann, R. D. 2, Bridgeville,. Pennsylvania, said refund to cover a portion of the Personal Property Tax paid July 7, 1960 for the year 1960. On February 4, 1960, Mr. Walter E. McGrann filed with Washington County his 1960 Personal Property Return. The return was based on tgree (3) mortgages; Frank K. Becker valued at $83,200.00, Joseph Moreland valued at $22,000.00 and another against Joseph Moreland valued at $1,000.00. Mr. McGrann erroneously filed themortgage naming Fred K, Becker as the mortgagor. The correct mortgagor should have been named as the Fairgreen Developmdent Company, a Pennsylvania Corporation doing business -at 712 Washington Road, Pittsburgh 28, Pennsylvania'. This mortgage comes under the Pennsylvania Corporate Loans Tax which is paid directly to the Commonwealth, therefore, a refund is requested based on the proportionate amount of the total tax paid. The Personal Property Department of the Tax Assessment Office, is hereby authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $316.16 made payable to Walter E. McGrann, R. D. 2, Bridgeville, Pennsylvania. Motion carried unanimously. ,.I
