Board of County Commissioners in regular session those present beinE:
Commissioners Pettit., Cummins and Mazza.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza., that the following
Resolution be adopted:
R E S 0 L U T 1 0 N
WHEREAS., Washington County on August 12., 1959, gave to the Federal
Government firm and unqualified assurances of local cooperation in connection with the Flood
Control Project on Chartiers Creek in the City of Washington and Township of Canton, and
WHEREAS., the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has indicated its inten-
tion to assume one-half of the cost of such local cooperation, and
WHEREAS, the City of Washington and Township of Canton gave their
assurances to share in equal proportion with the County of Washington of the remaining costs of
such local cooperation requirements.,
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED., that agreements be entered into and re-
leases obtained for adjustment of utilities and for acquisition of such land., structures ease-
ments,, rights of way., and borrow and disposal areas as may be necessary to accommodate the pro-
ject, for such sums as hereinafter set forth, and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED., that the County. of Washington finance the
costs and expenses referred to herein by appropriations from the General Fund of Washington
County., if such funds be available or by borrowing as may be necessary pursuant to the authority
granted by the terms of the Municipal Borrowing Law,, Act of 1941 P.L. 159., and as amended.

Motion carried unanimously.
