BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the said
County of Washington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current
expenses of the County, the proper officials of the said County are hereby authorized and
directed to negotiate a temporary loan on such terms as act be agreed -Aeon by them, payable out
of taxes which have been levied and to be collected during the year 1961, and so mach of said
taxes as may be necessary to repay said loan, with interest, is hereby set aside and designated
for that purpose, and issue a note therefore, payable August 7, 1961, with interest from date of
said note at the rate of two and one fourth per cent (24%) per annum, free of all taxes levied
by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County of Washington assumes and
agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as follovs:.
PITTSBURGH NATIONAL BANK, WASHINGTON.* PENNSYLVANIA.................................$200,000.00
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County
purchase one graphotype 64 1.-VV, No. 763626 tabulator, extra plate arrangement.. light fixture,
extra tabulator programming unit, in the amount of $2,655.87 from the Addressograph-Mul.tigraph,
Box 6224, Cleveland 1, Ohio. This graphotype to be charged and used by the Tax Assessment
Motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this
time, the meeting adjourned,

Beard of County Commissioners in regular mosion those being
present: Commissioners Pettit, Cummins and Mazza,
Motion, by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the week of
March 1st through 7th, 1961, be observed as National Weights and Measures Week and the following
proclamation be adopted:
A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, March 2, 1961 will nark the 162nd anniversary of the first enactment
by the Congress of the United States of a weights and measures law, citing the necessity for
standard weights and measures and indicating the need for weights and measures enforcement as
a public service, and
WHEREAS, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has recognized the importance of
standard weights and measures enforceneft by establishing its own Bureau of Standard Weights and
MMaasures in the Department of Internal Affairs in 1911, and
WHEREAS., the County of Washington has maintained a local program of weights and
measures enforcement since July 1912, and
WHEREAS, our local officials are continuing to perform their duty of inspecting
Tall weighing and measuring devices within the limits of this jurisdiction to insure "fair play*
