Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the WILLIAM G.
JOHOTON COMPANY, P.O. BOX 6759, Pittsburgh 12, Pennsylvania, be awarded the contract for the
furnishing of election supplies for the Municipal Primary Election to be held on Tuesday, May 16,
1961, for the sum of one thousand nine hundred ninety dollars ($1990.00); this being the lowest
and only bid received.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Massa, seconded by Mr, Cunmins., that T. M. Bedillion, R.
4, Box 217, Washington, Pennsylvania, be awarded the contract for, the delivering of ballot boxes
and election supplies to the 188 election precincts in the County for the Municipal Primary
Election to be held on Tuesday, May 16, 1961, for the sum of eight hundred dollars (800.00);
being the lowest and only bid received.
Motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time,
the meeting adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session those present being:
Commissioners Pettit, Cummins and Mama.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that whereas, a petition
has been presented to the County Election Board indicating that a vacancy exists in the Office
of Alderman in the Znd Ward of the City of Washington. -
It Is Therefore Resolved that the Election Board recognize the contents
of said petition and declare the aforesaid office vacant and accept nomination petitions for the
Primary Election to be held on May 169 1961.

Board of County Commissioners in special session those present
being: Commissioners Pettit and Cummins.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the following
resolution for the changing of the existing widths, lines, and location of State Highway Route
62182; Section 4. located in Jefferson and Smith Townships, Washington County, Pennsylvania,
be adopted:
RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of Washington County that the Plans sub-
mitted for the changing of existing widths; lines; and location of State Highway Route 62182;
Section 4; from Plan Station 0+00,0 to Station 259 + 90.00; located in Jefferson and Smith
Townships; Washington County; have been examined by the County Commissioners and they agree that
Washington County will not assume liability for amy property damages resulting from the changing
of the above named highway as contemplated by these Plans; or any damages arising out of any
changes or alterations of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of this high-
way; or any damages resulting to axW property holdings of any Public Utility Company; nor will
the County assume any damages resulting to any coal or other minerals in and underlying the prop
affected by this improvement; but that Washington County will contribute the sum of Nineteen
Thousand ($19,000.00) Dollars toward the payment of property damages said sum to be p* d as
follows:
1. $7000.00 to be paid on or before December 1st, 1961
Z. $6000.00 to be paid on or before June let, 1962
3. $6000.00 to be paid on or before December lst, 1962
These contributions by Washington County are *ade with the understanding that
payments will be due and payable only upon certification from the Secretary of Highw.Vs that
each of the above listed paymentb-have been expended by the Department of Highways in the
settlement of property damages in connection with the aforesaid improvement,

Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that a refund
voucher in the amount of $19.99 be made payable to Norman C. Worth,, Jr., 480 Allison Avenue,
Washington, Pennsylvania, due to the State taking a portion of his property in Canton. Township
for the Thru Way in 1959. Mr. Warth paid taxes on July 28., 1960, at a discount, on a 5 room
frame house and lot assessed at 1,725 in Canton Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania,
Tax paid being the 1960 County Tax. During the year. 1959, the State took a small portion of
Lot 31, thus making a reduction in taxes. Therefore, the Tax Assessment Office is hereby author-
ized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $19,99 Payable to Norman C. Warth, Jr.
Receipt for said payment of taxes is on file in the Tax Assessment Office..
Motion carried unanimously.
