Motion by Mr. Mazza,, seconded by Mr. Pettit., that the County contribute the sum
of $500-00 toward the printing of the Annual Directory of Washington County Public Schools, 1961-1
1962.
Motion carried.
Commissioner J. Blatch Cummins entered the meeting at this time.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mir. Pettit, that the Washington County Court
House remain open on ThUrsday, October 12, Columbus Day, with a skeleton crew of workers in order)
that the taxpayers not be denied the additional day to pay their taxes.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mx. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion carried unanimously.
Meeting reconvened.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County Solicitor Frank J.
Docktor., be directed to either appeal or answer the Preemptory Writ of Mandamus in re fixing
ries of all court empl6yees, which was served on the County Commissioners by the Sheriff's Office I
on October 6, 1961.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Iir. Cummins, that the meeting be adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners met in regular session those present being: Comm-
lissioners Pettit., Cummins., Mazza, I. I". McCaskey, taxpayer of Peters Township., Washington County,,
JJack Merdian, Harvey Stuart, Chief Clerk and Jack Crouse, Reporter.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that John J. Dapper be reinstated
las Janitor at the Civil Defense Building; this action to be effective October 1, 1961.
Motion carried unanimously.
At this time, Mrs. Edward Bell and Executive Director Mrs. Marshall Clarke of
JGirl Scouts entered the meeting and permission was granted to them to plant trefoil in commemora-
Ition of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Girl Scouts of America.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the me
