BLATCH CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Clerk in the Tax Assessment Office; this action to be effective October 1, 1961. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazzl:, that Minute Nos. 167-168-169-170-171- 172-173-174-175-176-177-178-179-18(-181-182-183-and 184, were read and approved. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried unanimously. W. McCaskey, taxpayer of Peters Township. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the petition of Phil Escott to the vacancy in the Office of Assessor in the Borough of Finleyville, Washington County, Pennsyl- vania, be tabled temporarily. Motion carried unanimously. Bid proposals for the printing of the Annual Directory of Washington County Public Schools (1961-1962) were received. Remarks: Bid submitted by Ward Printing Company 82-88 Shaffer Avenue Washington., Pennsylvania Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Douglas Bowman, County intendent of Schools, be advised and instructed to notify the WARD PRINTING COMPANY., 82-88 Shaffe3 Avenue., Washington., Pennsylvania, that they have been awarded the contract for the printing of the Annual Directory of the Washington County Public Schools 1961-1962, being the lowest proposal re- ceived in the amount of $785.00. The County's share for the printing of said directories is $500, Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza., that the following proclamation setting aside the week of November 5-11, 1961, as Civil Defense Information Week in Washington County be adopted: PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of Government at all levels to insure the health and welfare of its citizens, and WHEREAS, Our Nation and its citizens are in grave peril from the evil influenc of Communism that threatens the peace and security of our country., and WHERE -AS, Our homefront for the first time could be subjected to the horrors of WE, THE WASHINGTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS do hereby set aside the week November 5-11, 1961, as Civil Defense Information Week in Washington County For the purpose of better acquaintingr , our citizens with the means available :to the protection of themselves and their families And we urge all municipalities within Washington Country to similarly proclaim this week of November 5-11, 1961, as CivilDefense Information Week, and cooperate with a11*'il, CM., Y Defense Units in helping establish effective means of protecting our peoples.
