BLATr-H CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS 110. 187 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa.,, October 23., 1961 Board of County Commissioners met in regular session those present being: Comm- issioners Pettit, Cummins., Mazza, Attorney Oliver Hormell, County Engineer Paul J. Pettit., Chief Clerk Harvey Stuart., Reporters Jack Crouse and Jack Merdian. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following polling place bE approved, due to the fact that a more convenient and centrally located place is needed. Washington lst Ward - Lst Precinct From: City Garage To: Fire Hall Rent: Same (No Charge) Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins., seconded by Mr. Mazza., that the following polling place be approved, due to the fact that a more convenient and centrally located place is needed. Washington 7th Ward - 3rd Precinct From: Freddie's Activity Club To: Tylerdale Fire Hall Rent: Same - $10.00 Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins., seconded by Mr. Mazza., that due to the fact that the bids received on May 10, 1961, for the construction of the Woodland Avenue Bridge were rejected and the bids received on July 12., 1961, for the construction of the Wallace Lane Bridge were rejected, the County Controller is hereby authorized to re -advertise these bridges (as one project) and to be advertised as "Construction of the Wallace Lane Bridge over Chartiers Creek,, Canton Township, Wash ington County.and Construction of Woodland Avenue Bridge over Chartiers Creek, City of Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania.," and said bids will be opened at 1:30 P.M., Friday, November 10., 1961, at a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Mazza., seconded by Mr. Cummins., that the meeting be adjourned. Motion by Mr. Cii-rains, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Dorothy Carroll be appointed as a temporary secretary in the Office of Civil Defense; this action to be effective October 16, 1961. Mrs. Carroll is to be employed for a two week period. Motion carried unanimously. 226 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHIN13TON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA FRANcis E. PETTIT, J. E3LATr-H CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Motion by Mr. Cummins., seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following resolution per- taining to the changing of grades,, lines., or widths of State Highway Route 247., in North Charle Borough., Washington County, Pennsylvenia, be adopted: RBSOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissioners of Washington County, Pennsylvania., that the Plans submitted by the Pennsylvania Department of Highways, for the changing of grades., lines., or ;widths of State Highway Route 247 - S - 5., from Station 75 + 30 to Station 77 + 59 in North Char- leroi Borough., Washington County., Pennsylvania., have been examined by the County Commissioners an( they agree that Washington County will not assume liability for any property damages resulting from the changing of the above Route as contemplated by these Plans; or any damages arising out o. any changes or alterations of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of this higi way; or any damages resulting to any property holdings of any Public Utility Company; nor will the County assure any damages resulting to any Coal or other minerals, or water, in and underlying th( �property affected by this improvement; that Washington County will not contribute toward the pay- Iment of Property Damages due to previous commitments. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that.the following resolution per- taining to the changing of grades, lines, and widths of State Highway Route 62077 Bridge No. 4 in North Bethlehem Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, be adopted: R E S 0 L U T 1 0 N BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissioners of Washington County, Pennsylvania, that the Plans submitted by the Pennsylvania Department of Highways for the changing of grades., lines, and widths of State Highway Route 62077 Bridge No. 4 from Station 159 + 50 to Station 168 + 55., in North Bethlehem Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, have been examined by the County Comm- issioners and they agree that Washington County will not assume liability for any property damage resulting from the changing of the above Route as contemplated by these Plans; or any damages ari� out of any changes or alterations of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of ti highway; or any damages resulting to any property holdings of any Public Utility Company; nor will the County assume any damages resulting to any Coal, or other minerals, or water, in and underlyir the property affected by this improvement; that Washington County will not contribute toward the payment of property damages due to previous commitments.
