Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of $9.41 be made payable to J. Arch Bromley, 155 Canton Avenue, Washington, Pennsylvania, to cover a portion of Personal Property Tax paid July 20, 1961. On February 2, 1961, J. Arch Bromley filed with the Washington County Personal Property Department his 1961 Personal Property return valued at $1980. This valuation was based on 990 318 shares of Midland Oil Company at $2.00 per share. Upon reconciling the return, the Personal Property Department found the quotation for Midland Oil Company to be $4.50 per share and changed the return accordingly, making the valuation $4455. A written request for the refund for the proportionate amount of tax based on the difference between the above valuations ($2475) was submitted by Mr. Bromley. He explained the company, in which he owns stock is located in Ohio (this was not specified on the return) and thc- quotation of $2.00 wa correct (given by Sproat & Clark). Since the valuation was based on the quotation price for the Midland Oil Company of Delaware, a refund is due for the proportionate amount of the total tax pc, by Mr. Bromley. Therefore, the Personal Property Department of the Tax Assessment Office is herel authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $9.41 made payable to J. Arch Bromley, 155 Canton Avenue, Washington, Pennsylvania. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Washington County Engineer, jj.,)Pettit, be directed to examine the premises of the Westside Land Company of West Brownsville Borough, and if his finds show that the County's interest will not be adversely affected by the dumping of materials into a ravine located alongside the Lane -Bane Bridge, then the Commissioners will agree with the State and the Contractor to permit such dumping of approximately 130 cubic yas of dirt providing it is agreeable with all municipalities concerned. Motion carried unanimously.
