BLATCH CUMMINS, J13HN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS and in addition he cited the following cases: a. Krull vs. the City and County of Philadelphia, 382 Pa., Page 1 b. Petition of Urik, 100 Pittsburgh Legal Journal 123 After hearing arguments by Mr. Curran., 1,ir. Terputac, and Mr. Simmons on the pros :and cons as to whether Mr. Edward J. Harris should have his votes cumulated by him as both a Demo. !crat and Republican candidate, in as much as his name was printed on the ballot twice., once as !Edward J. Harris, Democrat and second as Edward Harris., Republican. Chairman of the Board Mr. Pettit .9 , said that after the Board has reviewed the =testimony given they may be able to render a decision at 3:00 p.m.., this afternoon. Mr. Curran., Mr. Terputac., Mr. Simmons, Mr. Harris., Mr. Ashbaugh and Mr. Quail, I I left the meeting at this time, and the Commissioners entered into a regular Commissioners' meet Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the following members of the 'Washington County Planning Commission whose terms will expire on January 1, 1962, be re -appointed :for a six (6) year term. Russell M. Stone Jack Merdian F. D. Whalen Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Mazza instructed the Secretary to advise the Chief Clerk's Office that they ;(the County Commissioners) had orally entered into an agreement with the Pennsylvania Economy �League, (Richard L. Conaway) to come in and help the Board during the duration of the budget hear 4 ,to offer recommendations and help with the preparation of the budget. Attorney John F. Wiley, Co-ordinator for the Chartiers Creek Flood Control Proje entered the meeting at this time. Mr. Wiley advised the Board that an emergency had developed at Hayes Avenue involfing ;the Chartiers Creek Flood Control Project and it is necessary to have a 481 corrugated metal pipe in - !stalled. It was explained that if there should be any delay in advertising and placing of this drain �the County would be obligated to pay rental costs for the contractor's equipment and men,, until such !time as a contract would be entered into. The County could purchase the pipe for approximately $950-00 and if the pipe I !be set in by the County Engineer's Office, the Contractor would do the backfill. This would mean a iisavings of at least $200.00 for the County. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Office of the County Engineer 1purchase the said 48' corrugated metal pipe and have it installed. Purchase price not to exceed $950- Motion carried unanimously. Motion by 1-1r. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried unanimously.
