Motion carried unanimously.
A letter received from the North Charleroi Borough Council advised Francis E. Pettit,
County Civil Defense Director, of the selection of John L. Doerzbacher, 401 C enter Avenue, North
Charleroi, Pennsylvania, as Civil Defense Director for said borough. Letter referred to Mr.
Minnemeyer, III.

Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the expenses of Joseph A. Fecon&6
Warden, who is attending the State Parole Board Conference for County Prison Wardens at Harx-Isburg,
Pennsylvania, on April 11-12, 1962, in the amount of $40.00 be approved for payment. Said state-
ment of expenses having been presented at the prison board meeting, April 19, 1962, inspected and
approved with a motion made that the Commissioners take favorable action in regard to this bill.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Washington County will participat
in the program of the State for Grants to Counties to assist in the development of Juvenile Pro-
bation Services, and will execute the agreements necessary to put the same into effect.

Remarks:
Mr. Pettit: "I expect to support this program and contract in so far as its range
of salaries are equal to salaries paid in other departments."
Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mazza - Yes; Mr. Cummins - No; Mr. Pettit - Yes
Motion carried.
Tax Claim Bureau Solicitor, August Sismondo, entered the meeting at this time, and

reported that Francis E. Pettit, Chairman of the Washington County Commissioners, was elected as
a Director of the "Mon -Valley Manpower Development and Training", along with the Chairmen of the
County Commissioners of Fayette and Westmoreland Counties and members of other are&Awhool districts
and union leaders.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion carried unanimously.
