Also present being: Tax Claim Bureau Solicitor Hormell, Reporters I Crouse and Mardian. Mr, Rogers, in behalf of the Beatty Property owners, inquired if the County could help in relieving the backwater condition at Chartiers Creek. This being in connection with the ChartAers Creek Flood Control Project. Mr. Pettit informed him of the letter recently (June 28, 1962) received from the Corps arf Engineers concerning this subject. After some discussion about the backwater condition Mr. Rogers left the meeting* Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Massa, that the Application for County Aid from Liquid Fuels Tax Fand, as submitted by South Strabane Township,, Washington County, Pennsylvania, be in the amount of $1,090a00, contingent upon approval by the Department of Highways. This amount to be used for improvements in said township as outlined in their application which is on file in the office of the County Engineer. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr, Cumoins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Application for County Aid frmr Liquid Fuels Tax Fund, as submitted by Roscoe Borough, Washington County, Pennsylvania, -be approvId in the amount of $2,000.00, contingent on approval by the Department of Highways. This amov at to be used for improvements in said Borough as outlined in their application which is on filet in the Office of the County EngiAeeri Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cunmins,'seconded by Mr. Massa, that the lateral transfer of George W. Vitteck, Jr., be approved and he be retained at the Child Welfare Service Department, in the classification as approved for him by Harrisburg. This action to be effective the 16th day of July, 1962, Motion carried unanimously, Motion by Mr. Massa, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the contract as prepared by the Solicitor's office between Western Pennsylvania Research Associates, Inc., Pittsburgh, Pennsyl-- ! vania and the County of Washington, for additional appraisal Work be executed and signed, Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. C , seconded by Mr, Massa, that Jame Barnek be appointed as a lineaartan in the Engineer's Office; this action to be effective July 9, 1962. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins,, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that John Masohetta, Jr., be appointed as a field assessor in the Tax Assessment office; this action to be effective June 25, 1962. Makel, be appointed an E L investigator at the Institution District; this action to be effective July 9, 1962. Motion carried unanimously,
