BLATCH CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the sum of $600.00 be transferred from Item No. 107 A-2 and the sun of $400.00 be transferred from Item No. 107 a-1 of the County Treasurers Office (which is account no. 107) to Item No. 107 A 2-1 for the purpose of paying extra salaries necessitated by additional help being hired to process County Tax Statements. I Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the sum of $1,000.00 be added to the appropriation of the Washington County fairgrounds Account No.518. Said monies to be transferred from the Miscellaneous Account "No. 513". Motion carried unanimously. Motion -by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. !Mazza, that the meeting be adjourned. Mr. Pettit, Chairman of the Board called the regular meeting to order noting that the full Board of Commissioners being present. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the regular meeting be postponed -vut-ll 11:00 a.m., F*iday, August 10, 1962. (The Board at this hour were engaged in hearing Tax Appeals,) l Motion carried unanimously. THE FOREGOING MINUTE READ AND APPROVED: September 28, 1962 ATTEST: Chief Cl k IND. 274-A Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., August 10. 1962 Board of County Commissioners met in regular session (meeting being postponed from i 10:00 a.m.uasil 11:00 a.m)with the following members being present: Commissioners Pettit, Cummins and Mazza. Also present being: Solicitor Massock, Bookkeeper !Murdock of Controller's Office, Mr. McCaskey and Mr. Bradshaw, residents of Washington County, Reporters Crouse and Merdian and w (representatives from the Janro Engineering Corporation. I I A check in the amount of $5,674.80 received from the Office for Children and Youth - !Juvenile Probation Services (period of 6-1-61 to.6-30-62) was brought to the Board's attention mad the Chief Clerk's Office was instructed to bring this check to the attention of the Controller's Office in order that it could be credited to the Juvenile Court Budget as an increase in salaries. Letter received from Ruth Grigg Horting, Secretary, Department of Public Welfare, dated 1 July 25, 1962, stated that the Commissioners applicated for Grant Funds under the Improvement and IDemostration Grants, Services.for the Aging, Act 40A, had been received and approved in the amount iof $3,000.00 for the period of July 1. 1962 to December 31, 1962 for the Homemaker Service Programs. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. [Mazza, that the Commissioners prucbase for the price of $10.00 the three two -volume sets of the "Collation of Pennsylvania Statutes Relating to F 1 1 MINUTE BOOK 9 BOARD OF COUNTY COMMI.SSIONERS WASHIN13TON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA FRANCIS E. PETTIT, J. 13LATCH CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Welfare" recently published by the Health Law Center, University of Pittsburgh, by direction of the State and Local Welfare Commission. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for bids for the furnishing and delivering of Tax Assessment Supplies for the year 1963, to be used by the Washington County Board for the Assessment.and Revision of Taxes; said bids to be received by the County Controller in his Office at the Courthouse, Washington, Penn- sylvania, until 11:00 a.m., Daylight Saving Time, Friday, August 31. 1%2, and opened immediately thereafter in the Office of the County Commissioners, Courthouse, Washington, Pennsylvania. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for bids for the furnishing and delivering of coal for the Washington County Court House and Jail Buildings for the 1962-1963 season. Bids to be received by the County Controller in his Office Courthouse, Washington, 11:00 Daylight Saving at the Pennsylvania, until a.m., Time, Friday, September 7, 1962, and opened immediately thereafter in the Office of the County Commissioners, Courthouse, Washington. Pennsylvania. Motion carried unanimously. Notion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for bids for the furnishing and delivering of coal for the Washington County Hone and Hospital for Men and Home for Aged Women. R. D. 1, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the 1962- 1963 season, Bids to be received by the County Controller in his Office at the Courthouse, Wask- ington, Pennsylvania, until 11:00 a.m., Daylight Saving Time, Friday, September 7. 1%2. and opened immediately thereafter in the Office of the County Commissioners, Courthouse, Washington, Pennsylvania. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Mazza informed the Board that the Chartiers Township Planning and Zonning Commis- sion along with some othere interested citizens had contacted him concerning the advisability of constructing a barn and equipment storage building, located on County Property at the Washington County Home and Hospital for Men. The Planning and Zonning Commission of Chartiers Township had several objections to this construction, mainly that this particular area was an industrial development area. After some general discussion on this subject the following motion was made. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the Commissioners postpone the awarding of the contract for the construction of a barn and equipment storage building, until Friday, August 17, 1962 at 11:00 a.m., so that the Board may have an opportunity to meet with the Planning and Zonning Commission of Chartiers Township and other interested parties. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Mazza was instructed to arrange for a meeting with members of the Planning and Zonning Commission of Chartiers 7 ownship and all other interested parties. Meeting to be arranged for any date before Wednesday, August 15, 1962. An invitation was extended to Mr. McCaskey, Mr. Bradshaw and all other interested persons to attend this meeting.
