BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
WASHINSTON `COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
FRANCIS E. PETTIT, J. BLATCH CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Pettit stated that plans for building of the barn amounted to approximately
$35,000.00, in excess of anticipation. The County's Planning Commission and the,Chartiers Town-
ship Planning Lommission recommended that the barn not be built at this time and that this area
be used for an industrial site.
Mr. Mazza stated that be would like to commend the Board on this action and the Planning
Commissions and the taxpayers who have brought this to my attention. Mr. Mazza also stated that
they may call at any time upon the Board for sound criticism and items for adjustment for our
County.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by'Mr. Cummins, that all bids for the construction of a
barn and equipment storage building at Arden, Washington County, Pennsylvania, be rejected.
Various bidders to be notified of this action.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion carried unanimously.

Washington, Pa., August 24, 1962
Board of County Commissioners met in regular session in the Office of the County Com-
missioners with the following members being present: Commissioners Pettit and ,Mazza. Also present
being: Solicitor Massock, Tax Claim Bureau Solicitor Hormell, Reporter Crouse and Citizen Charles
E. Bradshaw.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the sum of $6,000.00 be transferred

to Account No. 103-8 (Wages) from Account No. 513 (Misc.)
Motion carried,
Mr:'Mazka suggested the Board call all office and department heads to appear for mid-
summer budget hearings to determine the rate of spending in each account and to determine if the
year can be ended in the black.
Mr. Pettit remarked that the Board first consult with the County Controller to deter-
mine t " status of the various accounts.
Mr. Mazza also stated that he had received criticism from three taxpayers on the charge
that department heads are not on the job on Saturday morning, nor was there sufficient personnel
in the various offices working on Saturday. Chief Clerk was instructed to contact all department
hO�ds, under the Commissioners and instruct them to have someone in the Office on Saturdays.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the Courthouse remain open on Saturday.
September 1, 1%2, (before Labor Day). Commissioners Offices to operate on a skeleton crew,
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the meeting be adjourned.
