BLATCH CUMMINS, JOHN AMAZZA, COMMISSIONERS 1 1. John J. & Ruth L. McKenna, R. D. 1, Box 226, Bentleyville, Pa., for overpayment of 1961 County Tax. County Real Estate Tau was paid in the amount of $40.26 for the year 1961, on an assessed valuation of $4335.00 for property situate in Somerset Township, Washington County, Pennsyl- vania. At a later date this valuation was reduced to $3230.00 and tau to $31.45, making a refund due in the mount of $8.81. Motion carried unanimously. At this time Mr. McCaskey entered the meeting. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the Solicitor's Office attempt to obtain an Agreement with those municipalities using the facilities of the jail# that they will sign Agreements that they will assume any extra ordinary medical expenses, beyond the regular provided medical care provided by the jail physician, for any inmates in the jail by virtue of their authority. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Massa, that the County of Washington enter into an Agreement with Grof & Myers, Consulting Engineers, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for the rental of the following drafting equipment; 5 drafting tables, 6 stools, 4 lamps, 4 T squares. Rental to be on a month to month basis at the rate of $25.00 per month with the understanding that Graf & Myers shall return said equipment at any time that Washington County may demand the same. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Mazza briefly told of the meeting the Commissioners had with representatives from the U.' R. Army Engineers' Office on Thursday, September 20th, in connection with the proposed flood protection project at Canonsburg and Houston (Chartiers Creek) Preliminary Plans have b4m prepared and the engineers have estimated land damage costs to be approximately $768,000.00. Plans are being madd to arrange a meeting with the County Commissioners and representatives from Houston, Canonsburg and Chartiers for the first week of October. Representatives from the U. S. Army Engineer District and Department of Forest and Waters also to be present. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that George T. Sloan of Washington, Pennsylvania, be appointed to serve as a member on the five, -member Board of the Redevelopment Authority of Washington County replacing Charles -A. Morgan of Canonsburg, -Pennsylvania, who resigned, Mr. Sloan to be appointed for a five year term effective September 24, 1962. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummm3 ns, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the application for County Aid from Liquid Fuels Tax Funds, as submitted by West Pike Run Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, be approved in the amount of $22,000.00, contingent on approval by the Department of H3 s.
