Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the following members being
present: Commissioners Pettit, Cummins and Mazza. Also present being: Reporter Crouse and !

Motion by Mr. Cum dns, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Chairman of the Board write to sa�h
and every surrounding newspaper in the district, inviting them to have representatives attend the�

Commissioners' meetings. Bate and time of meetings to be indicated in letter.
Motion carried unanimously.
Executive Director of the Redevelopment Authority, Mr. Keery McAmbley, entered the
meeting at this time to report on his trip to Washington D. C., (September 26th and 27th) in

t connection with the Public Works Act.
Mr. Mcbley presented the following information to the Board.
1. $900 million dollars will be available for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
2. Application forms should be available within a week.
3. Applications must be made for those projects which can be started within 120 days �
and completed within twelve months.
4. Federal Government's contribution will be a minimum of 50% of the cost or a maximum
of 75% of the cost of the project approved. Preference being given to depressed are"-
5. Following projects could be eligible under the Public Works Act.
1. Courthouse
t 2. Jail
3. Bridges
4. City -County Buildings
G 6. Speed and time very important when applying for aid. Indioations are that projects
and funds to be awarded on a first -come, first -served basis.
Mr. Cromwell of the Planning Commission and Mr. Merdian of W. J.P.A. entered the meeting.1

Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that upon the recommendation of Mr. i
Cromwell, Director of the Washington County Planning Commission, John J. Schraff be appointed as
an analysis planner for the Washington County.Plarming Commission; this action to be effective
Novembw 1, 1962.

Notion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Massa, that the polling changes as submitted by
il the Election Department and which were tentatively approved on September 14, 1962, Minute No. 28t
! are hereby finally approved.
