Lotion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Rita Elifanti, be appointed as a
temporary clerk in the Tax Assessment Office; this action to be effective October 15, 1962,
Motion carried.unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Betty Findlay be appointed as a
¢cleaning woman replacing Darlene Kennard; this action to be effective October 15, 1962.

Now, Therefore, the Board of Cotan►iissioners do hereby resolve that, it is hereby rem
quested that residents, industry and business establishments in Washington County henceforth refer
to Washington County, Pennsylvania, as *Washington County, Pennsylvania, Where the Nation's Highways

orized to prepare tag refunds for the following due to either duplication or overpayment on real
estate or occupation tax.
1. Richards, Walter L. & Judith, 207 Dianne Drive, Monongahela, Pennsylvania,
for overpayment of 1962 County Tax, On August 31, 1962s tau was paid in
the amount of $53.27 on property situate in Carroll Township, Washington
County, described as 1 story brick house, garage, lot 34, Tax Adjustment
No. 1568 reduced the valuation to 200 + 3325•and tax to $41..02, making a
refund due in the amount of $12.25.
2. Wilson, Richard.S. & Mary Lou, R. D, 1, Box 332, Monongahela.. Pennsylvania,
for overpayment of 1962 County Tax. On August 17, 1962, tax was paid in
the amount of $39.14 on property situate in Carroll Township, Washington
County, described as 1 story brick -frame house, lots 157, 158. Tax Adjust-
ment No..1574 reduced the valuation to 200 + 2275 and tax to $30.32, making
a refund due in the amount of $8.82.

Avenue, Pittsburgh 17, Pennsylvania, for overpayment of 1962 County Tax. On
August 1, 1962s tax was paid in the amount of $418.95 on property situate in

lot 154s part lot.152, 156, 158. Tax Adjustment No. 673 reduced the valuation
to M,000.00 and tax to $279.29, making a refund due in the amount of $139.66.

payment of 1962 County Tax. An August 1, 1962s tax was paid in the amount of

making a refund due in the amount of $10.65.

1962 County Tax, On July 31, 1962, tax was paid in the amount of $67,03 on
property situate in Jefferson Township, Washington County, described as 1 story
stone house, garage lots 5-6, Malone Plan. Correction slip dated 9/4/62 re-
duced the valuation to $5160 and tan to $60.05, making a refund due in the
amount of $6,98.
6. McCaffrey, A. J. & Ilah, R. D. 1, Hanlin Station, Pennsylvania, for overpay-
ment of 1962 County Tax. On August 1, 1962, tax was paid in the amount of $33.69
on property situate in Jefferson Township, Washington County, described as 1
story frame house -buildings 0.07 acre surface. Correction slip dated 9/5/62 re-
duced the valuation to $200 + $1660 and tax to $21.65, making a refund due in the
amount of $12.04.
7. Baumgartner, Irvin W. & Betty, Thorne Road,. Park Avenue Manor, Washington, Penn
sylvania, for overpayment of 1962 County Tax. On August 1, 1962s tax was -paid
in the amount of $64.12 on property situate in North Franklin Township, Washington
County, described as 1 story brick house, double garage, lot 43. Tax Adjustment
No. 1930 reduced the valuation to $4760 and tax to $53.39, making a refund due in
the amount of $8..73.

overpayment of 1962 County Tax. On August 1, 1962s tax was paid in the amount of

described as 1 story brick house garage, lot 33. Tax Adjustment No. 24b ;
reduced the.valuation to $200 + 14985 and tax to $56.85, making a refund due
in the amount of.$5.23.
9. Mansfield, Marshall W. & Winifred H., 1095 Overlook Drive, Washington,, Penn•
sylvania, for overpayment of 1962 County Tax. On August 1, 1962, tax was paid
in the aunt of $hg.92 on property situate in North Franklin Township, Wash-
ington County, described as 1 story brick house, garage, lot 11, part lot 12.
Tax Adjustment No. 24U reduced the valuation to $200 + $3700 and tax to $45.39,
making a refund due in the amount of $4.53.

overpayment of 1962 County Tax. On August 1, 1962, tax was paid in the amount �

the valuation to $200 + $4500 and tax to $54.70, making a refund due in the amountM
of $7.68.

1962 County Tax. On August 1, 1962, tax was paid in the amount of $58.19 on
property situate in Smith Township, Washington County, described as 1 story
brick house, lots 237, 238. Tax Adjustment No. 1587 reduced the valuation
to $200 + $4540 and tax to $54.70, making a refund due in the amount of $3.49.

County Tax. On August 1, 1962, tax was paid in the amount of $58.19 on property

reduced the valuation to $200 + $3755 and tax to $48.45, making a refund due in
the amount of $4.78. i

Charleroi, Pennsylvania, for overpayment of 1962 County Tax.. On July A. 1962s ta�

Washington County, described as 0 524 acre surface, 1 story frame house, concrete
block out building. Tax Adjustment No. 1952 reduced the valuation to $200 + $900
and tax to $12.81, making a refund due in the amount of $2.h9.

16. The Monongahela Railway Company, 1109 Pennsylvania Station, Pittsburgh 22, Penn-
sylvania, for duplicate payment of 1962 County Tax. On August 1, 1962, tax was i
paid in the amount of $5.99 and $.87 or $6.86, on property situate in South
Strabane Township, Washington County, described as 17.21 acres surface and 3.446 i
acres surface. Correction slip dated 9/12/62 removed acreage as duplications,
making a refund due in the amount of $6.86.
17. Greich, John A. & Mary, Box 682, Donora, Pennsylvania, for overpayment of 1962
County Tax. On July 20,.1962, tax was paid. in the amount of $48.88 on property
situate in Donora Borough, Washington County, described as 2 story brick house,
part lot 17, bll- 28. Tax Adjustment No. 875 reduced the valuation to $200 and i
$3090 and the tax to $38.28, making a refund clue in the amount of $10.60. j
18. Lightholder, Julia G., 1219il.haven Road, Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, for duplication
of 1962 County occupations tax. On August 1, 1962, occupation tax was paid along
with real estate tax by Item 1694 and payment was duplicated on same date by Item
No. 1695 in the name of Richard & Julia Lightholder. Refund due for two occupatio
taxes is $2.33.
Motion carried unanimously.
It was mentioned by Mr. Pettit that he had received correspondence from the followings
1. Letter from the Air Pollution Commission.
2. Letter from Joseph Mott, Jr., concerning air `U, regulations.
3. Letter received from Mark Goddard, Department of Forests and Waters, Harrisburg,
Pennsylvania, and the United States Department of Agriculture concerning Harmon
Creek Water -Shed Project.
No action was taken on the above mentioned correspondence..
