Hamilton, Edward,& Elsie, % Hindman Avenue, Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, for overpayment of 1962 County Tax. On August 1, 1962, tax was paid in the amount of $50.98 on property situate in Burgettstown Borough, Washington County, desc- ribedibed as li story brick house, garage, lot 54, part lot 55. Correction slip dated 9/11/62 reduced the valuation to 200.and 3430, and tau to $42.25, making a refund due of $8.73. 2. Keery McAmbley, Director of the Redevelopment Authority and Commissioner Mazza entered the meeting at this time. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following resolution fo:r flood protection of the Boroughs of Canonsburg and Houston, and their vicinities, by the improve- ment of the channel of Chartiers Creek be adopted: RE,SQLUTION RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners,Washington County, Pennsyl- vania, having been informed by representatives of the U. S. Array Engineer District, Pittsburgh Corps of Engineers, as to the plan for flood protection of the Boroughs of Canonsburg and Houston, Pa., and their vicinities by improvement of the.channel of Chartiers Creek, and as to the require- ments of local co-operation in connection with suoh. i w ..�.,;,,.uent, shall furnish to the United States of America, at such time as request is made therefor by the United States, assurances to provide the local required cooperation for this project, such required local co-operation beink understood to consist generally of the following: That the Board of County Commissioners will undertake to: (1) Provide without cost to the United States all lands, easements, rights -of -way, and spoil disposal areas necessary for construction of the project, (2) Bear the cost of sower, water, gas, oil, electric power and telephone lines and other utility alterations and the railroad trackshifts required for the project, (3) Bear the cost of highway bridge replacement required for the project, (4) Hold and save the united States free from damages due to construction of the project works, (5) Maintain and operate the project works after completion in accordance with regulations prescribed by the Secretary of the ,Army, (6) Establish channel limit lines conforming to the improvement and prevent encroachment thereon, or dumping of waste materials into, channels so delimited, AND BE IT rvr:rw,,n RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution shall be furnished to the United States as evidence of the Board of Washington County Commissioners' willingness to provide the required assurances of local co-operation.
