BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
FRANCIS E. PETTIT, J. BLATCH CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS
inviting the proper authorities of the Allegheny County Redevelopment authority to give consider-
ation in lieu of their problems ;tho McClelland Administration,, that a stadium site would be
available in Peters 'Township orer locale on Washington Cou:ty.
No action was taken on the above mentioned reselution.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Edward J. ]e be
appointed as Night Watchman at the Courthouse, hours to be from lO:OO p.m. to 6s p. ,this
action to be effective March 3,,5, 1963.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins., that YgrrA Clemens
be appointed as a Clerk in the Registration Office, replacing Clara Noma; this action to be
effective April 10 1963.
Motion carried unaT tsly.
Mr. Mazza stated that the Board should take action on the questions
concerning the renovation of the County Home. This work should be done with our own men rather
than a private contractor.
Mr. Pettit suggested the Board look this project over with Mr. Parkins
of Beall & Parkins, Architects.
Motion by Mr. 0%modw, seconded by Mr. i Mazza, that Warren N. Parkins
of the firm, Beall & Perkins,, Architects, be authorised to mks an to study of this
project.
Lotion carried unanimously.
Mr. Mazza informed the Board that he has attended a meeting of the
Southwestern Pennsylvania Regional Planning Commission, Commissioners being present from the six
counties in this area and stated that items taken up concerned industrial development in the
various counties. The next conference will be hold en Saturday, April 6, 1963, The first annual
conference which Mr. Mazza will a is being hold at the Hotel Webster Hall, Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, Thursday, April 25, 1963. Peverner Saqminten will be the principal speaker. Mr.
Mazza also stated that money spent concerning the ;Southwestern Pennsylvania Regional Planning
Commission is absolutely worthwhile.
Mr. Mazza also stateA that he would like to go on record that he has
been in close contact with RCA on flood conditions that existed there a short tipe ago. Mr. Mazsn
stated that he met with the Department of Forests and Waters and also the Highway Department on
this matter and that this situation is not as serious as it appears. Mr. Mazza commended the
Beard for the action taken on the problem of flooding.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seeendad by Mr. Mazza, that the meeting be
adjourned.
Motion carried usely.
