Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the following member4
being present: Commissioners Pettit and Mazza. ,Also present being County Solicitor Hormell,
Tax Claim Bureau Solicitor Yablonski, George Young of the Taxpayer's Association, Charles E.
Bradshaw and John Yuhas of the County Engineer's Office. Absent being Commissioner Cummins who
is on vacation.
Meeting called to order by Chairman of the Board, Francis E. Pettit.
Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following resolution in
regard to the sale of property f pr tu3paid taxes by the Washington County Tax Claim Bureau, be
adopted:

Mr. Mazza instructed the Chief Clerk's Office to notify the County Controller
by letter regarding the budget report for the first half of the year, in order that the various
departments may be notified as to how they stand, because of the agreement that reductions will
have to be made in the Tax Assessment Office. report should be availab3a no later than the end
of June.
Mr. Mazza asked Mr. Yuhas about the Wylandville Bridge in North Strabane Township,.
Mr. Yuhas stated that he has written the Department of Forests and Waters about
constructing a pier in the center of little Chartiers Creek for new construction of the
Wylandville Bridge.
Mr. Mazza instructed Mr. Yuhas to notify the North Strabane Township School
Board secretary regarding the bridge.
Mr. Yuhas also stated that he received three cost estimates of a purifier for the
well at the airport, as follows:

Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the County of Washington enter
into an agreement with Colonial Ever -Soft, Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, they being the lowest
estimate for a we4 purifier, provided work is satisfactory before payment is made.

Mr. Yuhas reported on the lower hangars at the airport, due to the freezing
weather last winter, doors must be raised and also that a survey would be prepared by next week
in regard to McClane's Run.
Mr. Mazza stated that he made a personal inspection on work being done on the
hangars at the airport and the work is satisfactory. Mr. Mazza also stated that the RCA plant
would put up another building which would create more jobs if the problem of flooding can be
eliminated.
Mr. Mazza suggested that the above material be tabled until a later date.
E. M. Lheureau, Jr., Chief Assessor and Alex Stathas, entered the meeting.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the Resolution entitled
Quadruplicate Amputees and Paraplegic Veterans' Tax Exemptions dated September 7, 1962,
(incorporated in Minute No. 2?9 dated September 7, 1962), be re-newed for the year 1963.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the following in accordance
with the provisions of the Amendment to the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,
(Resolution entitled Quadruplicate Amputees and Paraplegic Veterans' Tax Exemptions, is hereby
exempted from County Taxes for the year of 1963, assessed against the property indicated opposite
his name, to the extent of the percentage indicated.

Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that E. M. Lheureau, Jr., Chief
Assessor, give final notice to the Republic Steel Corporation and the J. H. Hillman & Sons
Company, on the appeal from the assessment of their property situated in East -Bethlehem Township,
Washington County, as follows:
That the Washington County Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes, pursuant
to your appeal from the assessment of your property described below for the year shown below his
